What do you need to make it home from work in a sudden crisis, then from home to a safe location?
What if the getting home can not be done and you have to get from work to the safe location? What if that safe location is Urban, and will be your home for the next month? What if you are stuck at work for days, because it is remote and safe?
Fanny pack, day pack, 24 hr BOB, 72 hr BOG, 1wk, 1 month, 1 yr........ Are you able to skip any of these periods and go straight into the next period if you have no choice?
I am laying out a plan that will give me the ability and resorces to do just that.

Buggie started a good thread about this a long time ago ...

http://internationalpreppersnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2851&p=32048&hilit=buggie#p32048

I hope that link works. Check it out and maybe bump it back to the top of the conversation.

There is so much valuable information that is now buried in the archives that its hard for people new to the forums to get a sense of it all. No sense in losing it if we don't have to.

I like your enthusiasm midlifecrises, but you need to step back and take a deep breath, You really should drive down to calgary on the 28th of sept I believe we could answer a lot of your questions and you could see how our meetings work..
I realise its a long way to go but maybe you and some other edmonton folks could car pool and make the trip more economical, it really would be worth while to come down......

Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...

I have a kit in the car, about a 24hr, mostly for winter but I don't have what most would call a BOB. I've thought about it for a long time and just can't see why I would be forced on to the road on foot. Don't just assume you need one because everyone else says so. Think first then do what's right for you.

I suggest you meet up with me the weekend after Thanksgiving and we can have a chat - like I noted in another post.
