Evening All,

Just had an afternoon of fun at Red Surge Tactical Sports - Battlefield Live, just East of Nanton on Hwy#533 and Range Road #281. The kids wanted one more outing before school so we took the kids for "laser tag", what a hoot. Almost like using M.I.L.E.S. Gear, almost. The training area has a compact 17 building "town" complete with vehicles parked in the street and furniture in some of the buildings. The owner & operator & moderator/ref - Doug Nelson runs a great facility. Rates are $20 per person for a 2 hour session (GST included). Or $30 for a 3 hour session. His facility is available for corporate or group events. The site operates on a reservations system only, no drop-in's. So for more info checkout their website: http://www.redsurgebl.com

This site may be of value for teams wanting to build teamworking skills or tactics. Please understand, that any type of beam weapons training system IS NOT going to behave the same as a real firearm. That said, this is a safe training environment to augment range time and field training.

Cheers,

Mountainman.

PS - Thanks Rubidoom. I have updated the URL.

Thanks, this looks great.

Do the weapons simulate a mag change? I see some weapons look like a C7 others look a traffic cops laser gun. Regardless, it looks like a great way to train in chaos while desperately looking for cover and targets.

Meinmachine,

One of the weapon platforms looks similar to a C-7 with M-203 grenade launcher underneath. They refer to it as a M-4.

Yes, there is a button that must be pushed to simulate the time delay of a mag change, complete with sound effects. Each weapons has a digital readout and a speaker. Commands from the "god gun" are transmitted to all participants.

And yes, it was a lot of fun. Training that can be made to be fun is effective training.

Cheers,

Mountainman.
