We are attempting to put together a Provincial Meet in Ontario and doing so requires a lot of planning. Not wanting to entirely reinvent the wheel where possible I was wondering if anyone who has had any kind of meet could give us some pointers. We are planning a two day event with workshops, seminars, displays, socials and perhaps a guest speaker. The audience will both those new to prepping and experienced preppers. Even If you have not attended a meet but have any ideas on what could be offered to benefit preppers I would love to hear thoughts.

You can reach me by a PM but email is preferred as PM's can be limited my email is icrcc at hotmail dot com .

Thank you.

ive never experienced a meet on that scale so I wouldnt know where to contribute. It sounds like it would be a great experience though, I hope you will give us all an update after its done to let us know how it went, what worked, what didnt, things you would change for next time. Then perhaps we could get something like that going in Alberta

See you all after.

Sure will Buggie. You can see how it is coming along by checking the posts in the thread Provincial Meet in the Ontario Forum: http://internationalpreppersnetwork.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3026

There is a lot of work going on behind the scenes regarding venues, possible presentations and sponsors etc. We need as many ideas as we can get so if you have any ideas please chip in. Many thanks to Gc_mountainman for his contributions. Once we have a comprehensive list of what preppers would like to see offered as options for the weekend we are going to post them and have members vote on what they want. We will then try to build these into the agenda. It is going to be an interesting summer.

Hello ICRCC, This idea has been swirling in my head for a few years in a way. I have been part of the Alberta Fish and Game Association and have organized small events. I have wanted to put on a gun show type event that goes a little beyond, but haven't had the right group or situation to go ahead.
I like Buggie's approach, but I think with the level of interest from many of the main contributors on the Alberta forum, that we should discuss something more proactive.
What I am thinking is that we could organize a twin event here in the west to coincide with yours. We could share planning ideas and coordinate a synchronized event.
Think about this: With the right set up we could run video seminars in both places at the same time. Your group could broadcast your speaker to us one hour, then we could broadcast ours to you the next. If we took an approach like this, we could share a bigger guest speaker. For example, maybe we could have the President of the Canadian Preppers Network give a seminar, Same with the president of the American Preppers Network etc. Then we could approach a big name such as James Wesley Rawles, Less Stroud, Nutnfancy from YouTube or Bruce Beach.
This speaker wouldn't necessarily need to travel to a conference if their schedule didn’t allow, we could set up a podcast and broadcast it to our events only.
I think running something like this would generate more tables, booths and billets for both events, plus would sell more tickets at the door as well.
I’m into it if someone else is, what do you think?

Hmmm, maybe I should rethink the quiet part...

Wow! What an idea. This is something that we shall have to give serious consideration.

I've had a couple pm's with people about getting this going in Alberta. I have also traded ideas with some of the Ontario group.
One thing that keeps coming up is many Prepper people want to stay "unknown" which is fine. I am willing to put myself out there if it means helping others.
Who else in Alberta would like to throw your ideas in?
There must be one or two of you out there who have been involved in putting an event together.
Weddings are big events a lot of the time... licences, book the church, book the hall, photographer, lots to organize. Anyone volunteered at a hockey or soccer tournament?
Lots of you folks have skills and ideas along with valuable personal experience, so we should be able to do this.
I would guess there are regular contributers to this forum who would be interested in having a booth of there own. How many of you out there have a business or hobby that would fit this type of an event?
