So I have been saving my nickels and dimes for awhile now with the hope to purchase a new "tool".
I have been drooling over the idea of a Tavor rifle, which has the whole Israeli battle proven thing going for it. However the price at $2800 is just so freaking much it hurts.
I have been considering a T97 with the flat top instead. Which the T97 @ $1350......is a very big difference there. Heck if I went T97 I would even have money left over to buy a 9mm carbine like the TNW ASR.
Then there is the Benelli MR1, can't really mod the gun out but I hear they are tack drivers. Plus I still save a few hundred dollars since they are around $1900......heck technically I could still buy a 9mm carbine and have spent around the same as the Tavor.
Or there is the Robson Arms XCR rifles. Price is the same as the Tavor however...solo my pocket book hurts and I have to wait and do more saving. I like that this gun has easy to use and avaiable caliber conversion kits, so I could snag a 5.56 initially and later pick up a deer hunting sized caliber.
So thoughts? Comments? Help?
A friend has the T97. says its great, and saved a bunch of coin.
Give a man a gun, and he can rob a bank. Give a man a bank, and he can rob the world.

Which leaves you with enough money to buy ample ammo to enjoy the gun and become really proficient with it. And then stockpile some more.
Have you looked at the VZ58? Cost 1000 very comfortable to handle.
Or a mini14 which has the advantage of being unrestricted.
Currently all of the guns in the thread are non restricted.
I am a Ruger fan however I have been gifted a number of AR mags and so looking for something that will accept them. Also do not want a restricted AR, as I want to be able to actually use the rifle......at least until J-Boy and his posse ban all guns in Canada.
