Of all the reading I have done this past decade in trying to learn more about the system, prepping, theories and more... one thing pops up on my radar fairly often and thats the theory that the puppet masters behind the curtain want a mass die off at some point in the near future. It was covered in one of the Zeitgeist movies as well if I recall. This theory shows up in books a fair bit including a few fantasy novels I have read that were published by authors who they themselves are preppers. Like many theories, this one just hovered on my radar like the many other theories that exist but in watching this past election down south and now watch the Dakota pipeline vs standing rock issue... this theory is beginning to stink of a possibility. Does anyone else seem to get this feeling that the war of US vs US citizens is just around the corner and the Standing rock issue is the stick poking at the hornets nest? First we see them (puppet masters whomever they may be if they are a thing at all) set the US up to be divided. They take out the guy (Bernie) who is the very most obvious candidate for a president by using the DNC to fix that one. What they are left with are the two front runners they want to make this happen. The country is angry because neither of the two should even be there. The country gets angrier because of the crap the two presidential runners represent then it gets ridiculously frustrated because the very worst of the two finds his way to the finish line. How was this even possible is the first question I ask which makes me wonder about this being a real possibility. Then, conveniently right after, we have the Standing rock issue suddenly becoming a big thing. At this moment we have the government vs the citizens and now there is an army of retired ex soldiers mobilizing to back up the citizens. The writing seems to be on the wall. A war is right around the corner. It will start small and then when it gets ugly, the public outcry will rise and then rioting and then marshal law and then groups of prepper types will mobilize in groups to fortify (you will take our guns from our cold dead hands type of thing) and it will grow exponentially. Backing up a second and keeping in tune with the theories concept of all this... what if the natives at Standing rock are also there doing what they are doing and have been paid to do it? Maybe a dozen or so at the start. Suddenly you have hundreds and you have no idea it was ever a set up to begin with. Soon there will be a thousand. It's already getting very militarized and with ex soldiers coming into the mix... it will get bloody soon.
So... conspiracy theories abound of course but it all stinks of very suspicious to me and that is what we as preppers do right? We prep. We prepare for any and all possible threats to our safety and right now... this one which has been painted as a possibility by many sources over the years as I have mentioned is one that seems to be just on the horizon as being real. I'm not entirely sure if I should get my butt in gear and begin actual prepping or not. Up until now its been a hobby of sorts for me and one I haven't exactly taken all too seriously if I'm being honest. What are your thoughts on all of this? Prepping harder right now? Think its nothing at all? I would love to hear thoughts and opinions just to stimulate conversation on the topic if anything else. I'm not looking for any validation on what my gut is telling me at the moment. Its been wrong before and it will be wrong again.

Here is a more comprehensive assessment. More articulately expressed than my answer. Though I believe the conclusion is the same. A near perfectly divided population, married to dogma, crippled in mind by ideology, is easily managed. There will be no revolution...there cant be one, its set up that way.

One thing I find interesting is how many non-military departments in the US are arming themselves to the hilt. I'm sorry I don't know how to link the articles I've read, but all you have to do is google it. I even saw a show on TV about it ,showing the flack jackets and assault rifles in the possession of departments I don't imagine needing them. Hopefully they are also being trained to use them safely, but you have to wonder why the federal government if supplying them (food and drug administration, small business administration,etc) with these expensive items if they don't have something in mind.
