Just saying hi,
Came across prepping recently. Just looking to expand my knowledge and hopefully talk to like minded people.
I'm from a small town near Edmonton. I am extremely new to this and really am a stupidly unprepared for even a minor disaster much less anything bigger. Any links or book suggestions you may have would be appreciated. I am hoping to attend a meet up at some point or meet people from the Edmonton area.
Thanks
Meggy
Welcome to the board.
Click on my name and select "read posts". (At least I think that's what is says)
If you read through my earlier posts you will most likely find answers to the newbie questions you may have. I started a couple of months ago and asked a lot of questions, and received a lot of good answers from this community to help me start in the right direction. Browse through them and see if you find anything that strikes your interest.
Furthermore, I would explore the main message boards. There are a lot of discussions regarding new preppers that contain a plethora of useful information.
See you all after.
Hi Meggy! Welcome to CPN! Keep reading and asking questions.
Here's a link to a post on the CPN blog that links to a free book that is totally worth the download. Very helpful and covers a little of everything!

Welcome to the site ....
There is some very good info hidden within the threads, so you will be doing a bit of reading, but you are making a great step forward by seeking info and getting Prepared
Things I say are my opinion, which is like belly buttons everybody has one.
Anything I say is not meant to anger or offend just to encourage discussion between adults.
Thanks Buggie I will check out your previous posts.
Anita thanks so much for the link. Definately looks worth the download.
Albertaborn - thanks for the welcome. Ive checked out some threads but will continue reading more.

Welcome Meggy,
I am sure if you ask the question, someone around here has the answer or will find you the answer.
May your quest be rewarding.

Welcome,
The best book I have found to date the pretty much hits all fronts is called Dare to Prepare by Holly Drenan Deyo. Not the holy grail for sure but I can't think of a better one stop shop for general prepping.
Cheers
Welcome to the group. Another excellent resource can be downloaded by following the link below.
