And regardless if it is legal or not, you can guarantee you will be given a ride in a cruiser, have your firearms confiscated, and spend time in jail and court. Then you will spend thousands upon thousands trying to convince a jury of your peers that it is ok for you to do so. You may even win, but at the expense of everything you own. Also I wouldn't be surprised if your firearms "fell" into the compactor accidentally. I have to agree with the Thera. Not worth it. The timing isn't right
See you all after.
Ok, ok... it was just a suggestion. I have no doubt 911 would be called soon as I stepped out the door. However, sitting idly by while our rights are stripped away is not my favorite thing to do. In the early 80's I took a Lee Enfield to school for show and tell *sigh*. The worst thing to do is stand by and do nothing while injustices are right in front of you... it makes us part of the problem, not the solution. If I stand alone I would just become a martyr without cause. Just thought people might be interested in joining me in my protest. It certainly wouldn't be feasible solo.
LOL... I see your point and agree with you in many ways...just not in the execution. The sad reality is that many of those who are against firearms have been very well brainwashed by the liberal machine. The emotional buttons are the ones that have been activated and placed on alert. To attempt to combat emotion with logic... well... the logic will always lose. It is easy to be passionate about emotion.. logic not so much. Over the past 50 years or so the PTB have developed the system where people are taught to be dependent. They are taught NOT to think critically. They are taught NOT to question. They ARE taught to fear and to believe that only the GOVERNMENT can protect them. They have been and are willing to give up more and more of their rights in return for the illusion of safety and security. Sadly I believe it is a downward spiral and nothing save a catastrophic event will change their beliefs. By then it will be too late.

If you have your rifle slung (unloaded of course) over your shoulder and aren't doing anything stupid, you should be okay. I have walked alongside a highway with my rifle slung (hunters orange on as I was hunting and done for the day) and I was passed by police and no one harassed me. I wouldn't recommend doing it for poops and giggles but if it is for a legitimate reason, go for it. You are doing nothing illegal even if you do get stopped.

Chance favours the prepared mind
This is just crazy anyone willing to do this should be smacked in the face
Guns are already a sensitive subject
Why mess with the government and made them give us even more stricter regulations
And didn't some guns do this in the states where the gun laws are alot more easier on people where they walked down the street with AR 15 s and handguns on there hips
Sorry to rant but this needs to be rethinked
Like talk to a news crew first to get there filming and really find out with the city police what they say I'm sure they will have something to say about it

Preparedness is like a condom , I've rather have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it
.
You two pair of IDIOTS can just stay the hell out of my town..We have enough problems down here without you two clowns showing up.....If you are actually stupid enough to walk or bicycle through Calgary with a gun or gun case on your back go right ahead it will make for good news at 6..Go up to district two, I have a couple of close friends that would be very interested in explaining things to you... Go ahead and reply to this and we will see how long it takes to get your dum ass's booted from here.....DENOB your turn......Any body that advocates for the use of a firearm in a manner such as this needs his/her head examined...Tell me just how far up your ass can you get your head to have a SHITTY thought like this one.....
Better to have it and not need it; then to need it and not have it...
Honestly, the OP has stated that this idea is more to "poke the bear" than anything else.
C'mon guys...that's not what we're here for and stuff like this just makes more level headed preppers look bad.
Not to mention attracting unwanted scrutiny on this forum by organizations we would rather not be looking at us in a poor light.
Perhaps ideas like this would be better off in other forums that don't care how they look to the public.
Sure it's stupid, but why not exercise the ability and normalize the carrying of non-restricted?
1. The Media already has an anti-gun bias, you're not going to get good press.
2. The non shooting public will just see you as a nutjob.
3. Just because it is legal doesn't mean its is the right or smart thing to do.Especially through a major city like Calgary.
This is something that might work in a small town where people know their neighbors.
4. Right or wrong you will spend time and money in court and probably loose your guns in the interim.
5. You'll have to convince a judge and the public that you are right and the spin machine will be against you.If you take High
River as an example the RCMP claimed they seized the firearms because they were improperly stored.A non-restricted
firearm just needs to be trigger locked(there is no requirement for a safe),so technically they were secure until the
doors were forced open.
I think you can get more positive results by writing your political representatives, joining either the NFA or the CSSA ,and
most important of all taking a non-shooter to the range and educating them.
I think people need to stop being afraid of what others think. That's what is wrong with society today. People need to stand up for what they believe in and stop being sheep.

You Sir are a fucking sheep.
Seems most people on this forum are nothing but cowardly sheep. Damn, I thought preppers were awake, seems I'm wrong.

Actually you should be slapped in the face for being one of the cowards who is not willing to stand up for our rights.
Well... That escalated quickly
See you all after.
