I have no idea the price, but in my opinion it's cute! http://www.sukup.com/Buildings/144/Safe-T-Home

That would be a great cottage/camp/BOL. A little camo paint and your good to go.

I think you could have a wood stove vented out the center...

I found out that the retail price is 10 thousand. Not so cute anymore.

Any farm boy worth his salt could build one of those with a saws-all and a rivet gun. Nice find martha

See you all after.

I would like a farmboy to come over with his saws-all and build me one! Our neighbours built a new home on their property and they had an old grain bin. I had visions of one of these but they tore it down before I had a chance to ask if I could have it 🙁

I feel your pain, Anita. I'm a scrounger who hates to see perfectly good stuff go to waste.

A friend of mine's husband had a beautiful little old beaten up table which he used for his coffee and ashtray to smoke outside. How I admired that little table, but I kept my mouth shut for fear it would look like I was "hinting" for him to give it to me. One day it was gone and replaced by a plastic Wal Mart end table. He had trashed the one I admired so long, how many times had I wanted to say how much I liked it, how much I would have loved to have it!!!

To be realistic, the little Safe-T home has a lot of nice features that would require a fair bit of time, work & ingenuity to replicate diy fashion. I'm sure there's people out there that have the talents to do it, but they likely have a lot of projects on the go... Too bad the pre-fab item is so expensive!

The only (but important) issue I see with this is our old climate. Metal is an extremely poor isolant and venting a stove may be difficult. Adding to price to this, the circular shape make things awkward when we are so used to having a cooking area, a sleeping area, a living area....
