I would also suggest that you don't need to be able to shoot to go hunting. Take the opportunity to join them and learn by observing and (quietly) asking questions when the deer is not in sight 😛
You will get to see the field processing etc as well this way. It may take a few times before you're getting your hands in their but this is a valuable skill if the only food is on the hoof post-shtf.
Just my thought on it as the ladies joined my friend and I last season even though they were only watching and hanging out.
This year, they are armed and ready to go. They plan on putting more into the freezer than us 😀
Hey everybody, travis from sherwood park here. Fairly new to prepping but with the usual busyness of summer i have been neglecting my prepping. Its a long and usually cold, (although this global warming thing appears to be coming true) winter and a guy needs something to keep him focused on what is important. So i think if we did organize a somewhat regular meeting would be very beneficial. Thanks and keep up the great ideas!
Welcome Travman1201 and greetings from Northern Ontario.
Hi from Fort Sask,
Just joined the site a few days ago, there are 8 of us at the mo, looking to meet like minded.
A few of us are new to prepping but already stocking supplies and other goodies. Hope to meet sometime for an informal chat and sit down coffee.
Stay safe everyone.
I so want to be part of this please, pretty please
Preparedness is like a condom , I've rather have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it
Hi there....I've been reading these posts, not realizing they are from 2012. Since then has there been any progress getting together for meetings in the Edmonton area? We are very interested in networking/meeting other preppers in our area. We've been seriously prepping for the past year.
I was just responding to another thread last week, perhaps you're already posting on it? I offered to meet people when I was up for the week but didn't hear anything. We’re having a BOV show and shine next weekend in the Calgary region if you're interested in sharing ideas with like-minded individuals. There will be time to shoot the Shit, so to speak.
