What ever happened to good old fashioned compost chicken manure mixed with steer dung?

Nothing is wrong with it...some of us do not have access to chicken manure...rock dust is minerals that do wonders in your garden, you can use whatever you like

Simplify this whole thing, save money and just purchase red wigglers in Alberta. They reproduce quickly, are good composters that can produce some of the healthiest soils besides the soils found near active volcanos. In permaculture you learn how to mimic mother nature's way of growing things and the importance of maintaining a balanced eco system. I recommend buying a book on permaculture to understand this method of sustainability. You don't need to have a lot of space and it can be done in a small backyard or on a balcony.
