Fellow preppers,

I really don't like controversy or contention. Feel free to disagree with me, take whatever is good and leave the rest, or leave it all, I just hope we can disagree respectfully.

That being said, it is my belief that there is one problem in the world, from which all other problems come... all the economic chaos, the wacked out weather, the sickening obsessions, school shootings, road rage, the environmental crises, the grave injustices that have people born into poverty while so much of the world is over-fed & over-entertained, the pornification of our culture, the loss of innocence in the young.. you name it . The one underlying problem of course, is sin. That includes mine, & yours too.

For this reason God allows us to reap the consequences of our actions, although sometimes this unfolds slowly, so slowly that we think we're getting away with it, until the reckoning comes... What I believe is coming at us is a purification of the earth. This purification has begun with God's own household as we see the sins & hypocrisies laid bare for all to see. This will continue. This purification will come upon the whole earth, including to each of us as individuals.

Because the world is in a state of spiritual crisis, and the only definitive answer to that crisis is to cease the rebellion against God, I keep in mind that all the preps & strategies & buried bunkers will not do it as long as we neglect to the Lord's true plan for humanity.

A friend of mine sent me this article. I share it for your discernment. http://www.locutions.org/2012/05/heroic-charity/

Peace to you
Martha

I am not a religious man. That said, I do believe the World is wallowing in sin. With or without a 'God" of any kind we have lost the innocence and goodness that was inherent in humanity. Granted there has always been evil at the top and at all levels downward but for the most part mankind was generous and tolerant of one another. Now there is less and less of that. Exactly the opposite; where each is turned inward, concerned only for their own life and benefit and in many cases not even that. A reckoning IS coming regardless of whether or not it is God, Buddah, Mohammed or simply the weight of "sin" that is on us. Time will tell and best of success to everyone.

I believe that almost all the problems world faces are caused by humanity (I am excluding most geological, all astronomical and all cosmological issues). Specifically, humanity has two problems that we seem unable or unwilling to control; unsustainable overpopulation and greed.

Thanks Martha,

Death is what brought about sin. For the scriptures say that the sting of death is sin. NOT the sting of sin is death.

When we have eternal life and no longer fear death, we will no longer hang onto our life.

Jesus said those who hang onto their life will lose it, and those who give up their life will gain it.

I couldn't agree more... I personally blame Prometheus for getting this whole thing started! Add to that the meddling of Loptr and the dripping of Ragnarok's vile venom upon the soil. Is it any wonder we prep????

Me neither Martha... well... at least not until I squeeze off that first round! 😀 LOL - just kidding.... orrrrrr aaaaammmmmm I???? 😎 hahahaha no I'm kidding ! LOL 😀

I am in agreement with you however. The whole world travail because of sin... and because of sin... death followed... It will come to us all. Jesus said that this time would come upon mankind... He spoke of many things regarding this time of Tribulation that is rapidly approaching, and very well documented in the Bible, and that as a Bible believing born-again Christian I could delve into. However, even He, in the Bible, spoke to people telling them that when that future time came, to run to the desert, and if unprepared, not stop to grab anything else they would die (at the hands of the enemy)

Long story short though Martha, you are correct in that all the prepping in the world will not save us or our families from death, but the Bible has numerous examples of God telling people to be diligent stewards of what He has given them, and to prepare for future hardships. This is what we do... and to that end, the best we are able... the rest is in God's hands.

GM.

Not sure what you're referring to, Romans 6:23 says "the wages of sin is death"

The way I see it is for my family we prep because we see the world around us and the "groans of creation" or the "wages of sin". Christian or non-christian we are all here because we see that things are bad and continue to move in the direction of getting even worse.

For Christians Grayman is bang on though about being diligent stewards of what God has given each of us and that we should invest our "talents". Just remember though that even if we prep like crazy or feel that we didnt prep enough because we didnt have the funds, time, etc it really is all in God's Hands and not our own. Trust Him first.

Yes, absolute truth.

It is immortality that changes us. For we already have the Holy Spirit and our spirit and soul have been changed by Him. But immortality will change us again.

1Cor 15

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I don't see what the big deal is. Just raise chickens, sacrifice, do a rain dance, repeat.

See you all after.
