I just thought i would add that whatever the sounds are, i am hearing them pretty much all the time now,
in the daytime, so anyone here in Edmonton need only go outside and listen...
Did anyone else hear "the noise" in Millwoods, Edmonton last night? It was loudest around 2:30 p.m After hearing it again last night, I realized that I heard it one night several weeks ago but it had a strangely lulling quality to it and I was aware of it and because it just continued to play its' tones I then drifted back off to sleep. It almost sounded like wind playing against power lines but in a whole range of tones and there was no wind. We haven't heard the boom sounds for a little over a week now.
...Hhmmm.....Sleep, my pretties........
..This reminds me in many ways of the Taos Hum. Taos is a town in New Mexico in which many residents reported hearing a hum. It was very well investigated. It turned out that some people because of their hearing sensitivity could simply not hear it. Others did not hear it although capable of hearing it. Of those that could hear it there were two groups. Those that had no problem hearing it and those that heard it and just tuned it out as background noise and were not aware of it. The brain is an amazing thing and is capable of concentrating only on those things that it thinks may be important. The interesting thing is once they were made aware of the hum they could not "stop" hearing it. Once you are aware of an annoying noise it is very difficult to dismiss it. I think the same principal may apply to these current noises too...
...programming the 'sheeple', perhaps?...

Thanks ICRCC I am "renting" it right now. 🙂 I find the youtube FLV files to be like watching through a peeled potato. Never the less I did not know about the show and now I do thanks to you.
...there is NO WAY this sound can't be heard by most everyone in the vicinity....i have closed my windows, and that low frequency is STILL getting to me...and i mean, REALLY REALLY bothering me now...it has been CONSTANT since i've gotten home from work...for anyone who may be living around here, it actually sounds like somebody is mowing the lawn....a BIG lawn....
...ok, i just went and shut every single window in my house, because i thought maybe the sound was coming from an open window downstairs, but oddly enough, it was hardly coming through there at all...so i came back upstairs and opened a window wide open, and IT WAS BARELY DISCERNIBLE from all the other sounds...
so what is getting to me inside, with all the windows closed, (i need fresh air!) are the LOwww frequencies....it is EXTREMELY unsettling...and the worst part is, i had fallen asleep early as i am quite sleep deprived by now, and i woke up from a VERY disturbing dream...( I rarely have bad dreams)...also, a few other people i know are not able to sleep lately, but i've been asking if they hear these sounds, and everyone says no...

most definitely, IC...i feel like i'm in the twilight zone right now...this really sucks...be glad you can't hear it. 🙁
...looking for an update from you morning coffee and bitbybit....this is REALLY starting to concern me....

deleau it sounds like they are laying groundwork (sewage/water) if it is a low frequency while you are indoors. When we had a basement we could literally feel a city bus as it drove off. Deep rumblings while inside is the hallmark of earth digging/jackhammering etc etc. We were able to feel it from several blocks away.
Thanks Gravlore....at this point, I am more than happy to go with that...I haven't really gone in the basement to 'see' what i hear... No doubt reading about project blue beam has filled my head full of squirrels and confetti....(make room, butterflies and unicorns...good thing confetti doesn't take up much space!)
...i REALLY need to lay off reading about this stuff...(y'a think?!) When i closed up my windows, put on some white noise, and listened to my ipod, it mostly took the sound away...(granted, Steve Quayle wasn't the best choice of listening material...) now this morning, i honestly can't be sure what i am hearing, as there is a lot of traffic for a Saturday morning, both air and ground...if i am hearing anything odd, it is quite faint and off in the distance...but that low rumble is still there...this is exhausting, and i'm quite sick of it...would they be doing this kind of groundwork into the wee hours, Gravlore? and would it be so incessant? I'm going to back away, from the insanity....

Deleau I KNEW you'd post this morning! Yes, the sound was there again last night and the wee hours. Started off low and built up to a considerable range. At 2:15 I got up and jumped in the truck to see if I could track it down. It was not combines, not trains, not construction and not highway noise.
I know exactly what you mean when you say you hear it everywhere. Is that a bit confusing? The initial event last weekend scared the hell out of me (there, I said it). I don't want to hear it. I am filtering through every sound I hear in an attempt to explain it. And that's just because I've taken so much shit over this that I find myself believing THEM and not me.
Is there a particular YouTube video that captures the sound for you? The Conklin video is the one I believe nails the sound. If there is, keep it as a favorite for comparisons. Perhaps you will feel safer and more secure that you are not substituting the sounds of everyday life in an attempt to explain this weirdness.
You certainly have had quite a week.
Deleau I am so sorry that you are finding this situation so distressing. The sounds are real not imagined and the majority of people cannot hear them. You are among the minority that are sensitive to this emanation. They appear to be actually more electromagnetic in nature and some people are sensitive enough to detect them where they are interpreted by as sound or physical vibrations. One of the best overall explanations was given by James Cowen for the 9th International Congress on Noise as a Public Health Problem (ICBEN) 2008 at Foxwoods, CT. The PDF of the summary of his findings can be downloaded from: http://www.icben.org/2008/PDFs/Cowan.pdf . I think that will probably make you feel a little better once you have read it.
You are not alone, millions of people around the world can hear these low frequency noises. They are environmental in nature and although it may be possible to trace the source of this particular occurrence to some industrial or other manmade cause, it is unlikely.
Hang in there and know that we support you.
And that's just because I've taken so much shit over this that I find myself believing THEM and not me.
Do you mean you have been talking to people about this? ... me too...it's met with a ❓ and no doubt a 'there she goes again"...
Is there a particular YouTube video that captures the sound for you? The Conklin video is the one I believe nails the sound. If there is, keep it as a favorite for comparisons.
The Conklin one is spot on for the worst sound there was, the one that really made me aware that it wasn't my imagination....before that, it was the constant hum... and all the 'banging'....but of course you can write that off as something tangible....after all, they sound so similar to what you'd hear normally with construction, etc.
The low frequency hum has been constant all day, (somewhat diminished in the basement) but at this point i am making a point of keeping my ipod on so i don't hear it as much....(i read it is very damaging, and that you should take every effort to avoid it...ie. earplugs...)
Just tonight before i came online, i thought i would try to record it, seeing as how it was so strong inside, windows ALL shut....well, i open up the window, and would you believe it was masked by the different sounds we are accustomed to? cars mostly, but it was so hidden...it was more noticeable with the windows shut!
....it is so well assimilated into every day/night sounds...
I don't know why (let's just call it the Conklin sounds!) are so infrequent...but as bad as they are, it's the constant assault that i find more unbearable...
...i am getting to where it is making me physically ill...my teeth actually hurt....nothing blocks it out...my house is sealed up, and it is just so strong...i'm trying to ignore it ...i keep trying to formulate some thoughts on this...
Perhaps you will feel safer and more secure that you are not substituting the sounds of everyday life in an attempt to explain this weirdness.
You certainly have had quite a week.
sorry, I'm half asleep here, so maybe i'm not reading it properly...but what do you mean?
...by the way, does any one know if they have started installing smart meters in Alberta yet?
IC, thanks for the link...i will check it out later...right now my brain is fried 😆

Well, some people have explained these noises as being derived from increased solar activity. Here is my question on that...
Were these noises present during every cycle in the past? If so, why do we not have reports about them?
Perhaps the expansion of the internet in the past few years has more to do with it.
During the last solar maximum, the internet may not have been sufficiently exploited to make this the viral topic it has become today.
Then again, have past solar maximums been strong enough to produce these noises?
There is no correlation between the solar sunspot cycle and the reports of strange sounds. Also this solar maximum is very much weaker than the last one. This however is somewhat of a puzzle as the last few maxima have been increasing in magnitude. This one was predicted to be bigger still. That is why NASA started delivering warnings around 2010 about possible massive solar flares. The usual solar minimum has 486 days without sunspots; this one has been much quieter. Since 2004 there have been 821 days spot free, that’s almost double. There is no explanation as to why the sun has gone unpredictably quiet.
The 11 years of the solar cycle is an average. The observed time between averages can range between 9 and 14 year. The last maximum was in 2000. We expected this maximum around 2011. NASA now predicts that the maximum will be February 2013.
It is not the "trumpets of God"...this year the Feast of Trumpets is sundown 16th-sundown 18th (so begins at twilight today but main days are 17th/18th)...to Christians the 7 Feasts of the LORD from Leviticus 23 are the appointments God keeps with His people...the 3 spring feasts were fullfilled by Jesus when He came the first time and the next feast for Him to fulfill is Feast of Trumpets,,which is when He raptures His church to be with Him, we know when He is coming (some year on Feast of Trumpets) but not what YEAR. <iframe width="640" height="390" src=" http://www.youtube.com/embed/SKUfhbj63Uc " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> If this doesn't post properly go to eternalrhythmflow on you tube and watch "The "Last Trump" Explained & Revealed...A rapture Bible study (FULL)...it will clear this up. (Ok...new moon was not sighted tonight so Feast of Trumpets is probably tomorrow at sunset)
Hi Deleau,
I meant that in my quest to rationalize these 'weird' sounds I have found that I can be fooled by everyday noise. At this point I know that I have heard it over two seperate occasions. Its unsettling nature has me thinking I hear it more and I have to be very careful that I don't lose this valued experience through back ground noise.
You live in west Edmonton? Have you tried a road trip out to the country? A change of locale might shut the noise out of your life for a while. Just a thought.
I found lack of a good nights sleep will make the noises louder. (different type of noise in my case)
Hi Bit! Funny you should say that....yesterday i spent the day in Stony Plain with some friends...I thought for sure it would be more noticeable out there..i listened very intently, but it seemed as if anything that i suspected was 'the sound' could be justified as just about anything....but because that 'hum' or 'tone' is embedded (literally!) in my head, i KNOW it was there...but my friend did not think it was anything unusual...
I even played her the video with the sounds from all over the world, and would you believe that at that point even to me they didn't sound that unusual? ...How crazy is THAT?! (At least it made me seem slightly more credible that i could prove it wasn't just me hearing this) Yes, even the Conklin one didn't seem that out of the ordinary....now THAT is weird....Add to that i watched something or other on TV with the kids, (i haven't watched TV for years now) and today everything seems right as rain this morning...(read the sarcasm in that one!) I am sleeping now with my house sealed up and a sound machine on...I'm at the point now where i don't even want to know if it is there...I am glad that it is all documented here, otherwise by now i would be totally questioning any of it...and that's the truth....
I will try very hard not to go back and erase this all later...although my thoughts are 'out there', i don't like them being 'permanently' out there! 😆
Hey old school, you snuck in a comment whilst i was writing that!! 😆 i have to run, I'm already late...but i'm not sure if that's the case for me or not...this is the first night of solid sleep I've had since this all started....
