The batt phone just went off (11pm)... been informed a ladies husband died last week....he had been sick the last 6 months, and hadn't been able to stock the sheds with wood for the winter, and with the winter coming fast I was asked to handle this,as she is considered a good person, and a friend of a friend. I have been told money is tight for her. Made two calls and have lined up two people with trucks for friday. the plan is I will use my contact to load up my trailer with the cheap wood I have been getting. one pallet into the other 2 trucks each, one into mine and then 4,maybe 5 pallets onto my trailer. So that makes 8 4x4 pallets of killin dried lumber, that adds up to 3.5 cord of wood and we will all unload and stack it for her.
she will be charged 300.00 for the lumber,40 for the 2 trucks to pay for gas (20 each) and 40 for me in hauling the 5 pallets ( I will use more gas) . all together her cost for 3.5 cord delivered and stacked will be 300.oo plus 40 , plus 40, so 380 to get her through the winter. Not to bad and something she should be able to afford.

Living in the country or a small town is really where I like living, people find those of like values and generally help each other. Its best to move to the country as soon as you can (if your into country living), get yourself esablished and overtime you will find those with similar values to your own who can be trusted, and equally important, identifiy those less trustworthy individuals with suspect judgement. I know people help each other out in the city as well, just seems easier to do in the country, or that's been my experience.
