Ive been watching this particular paranoid fantasy since the 70s since Hal Lindsyes populist prophesy books like The 1980s: Countdown to Armagedon or Constance E. Cumbeys The New Age Conspiracy or The Hidden Dangers Of The Rainbow. The whole Birtch Society was based on forcing square pegs into prophetic Round holes. It gets re written into a different story line every hand full of years.

Be FAR, FAR more concerned about the US posturing against Russia

After years of hearing about FEMA camps, the HAARP "weapon" array, mind control, Niburu, chem trails, and yes, even aliens in the white house, it's getting difficult to believe anything anymore. Someone will always take a video or pictures, show you what they want you to see in order to support their claim, and publish it all over the internet!

Usually, there is a common theme of "fight the government" and I believe C5 already posted elsewhere about how these extreme groups are actively recruiting you...right now!
As for Jade Helm, I believe it all started with a video of military equipment being moved by train...BTW, how would you expect contractors to deliver these vehicles?
You can't just drive a few dozen tanks down the highway to where the military needs them to be!

Let's all remember the recent story of how the US government had ordered millions of rounds of ammo...of course those promoting their own agenda left out certain words in the deal like "to a maximum of" and "over a period of".

If you see something online that make you think "that's unbelievable"...well, there is probably a reason for that.

I dunno -sometimes it seems like there are some aliens in our government. At least it would explain their odd behavior-lol

I've been following some of the discussions regarding EX JADE HELM 15 from the sidelines, being quite amused sometimes at the imaginative minds of some people.

First, I always found it interesting that when an average person makes steps for preparedness, he/she is commended for the effort, but when the government is making preparation, it is "the evil doings of an underground NWO".

If you look at the complexity of combat missions abroad, you want to make sure that the troops you send in harm's way are well trained for the mission. Over the years, battles previously fought in the open prairies of Manitoba/Saskatchewan (NW rebellion), in trench warfare of WW1, in the mountains of Korea and the jungles of Vietnam have more recently turned to
urban warfare, as was the case in Iraq and Afghanistan. Urbanization becomes the norm and so are mega-cities with now 10s of millions of inhabitants. Urban warfare is extremely complex and is fought in 3D where combatants can be found at ground level, hidden in buildings, in sewer systems, underground parkades or on rooftops. Providing training in such environment is impossible on military bases and is much more realistically done in urban centres. In turn, those towns and cities usually benefit tremendously from the economic windfalls (fuel, foodstuff, porta potties and miscellaneous supplies) created by such exercises. Those exercises have taken place inCanada, including several places in Quebec over the past 4-5 years.

As for the movement of army vehicles by railroad, this can also be explained easily : Tanks and large armoured vehicles are not designed to drive hundreds or thousands of miles without causing premature wear and tear. Not to mention the damage that would result to the roads being literally chewed up by tracked vehicles. The Army then makes best use of transport companies (flat bed for short distance / few vehicles) or rail for the movement of military supplies. Again, something done regularly in Canada (visit the area around Wainwright, AB every spring to see trainloads of army stuff!).

My biggest peeve with the average conspiracy theory though is that no one can explain how something of large magnitude could remain secret without any leaks.

Finally, there are a lot of survivalists out there contending that the government will turn on the people with all the might of the military and other "alphabet organisations" as proverbial henchmen to impose their will. This is the case in most prepper novels anyway. I would argue that today, most soldiers are well educated and couldn't easily be brainwashed to turn
on their own fellow countrymen. Soldiers now are trained at the lowest levels on laws of armed conflicts, on ethics and on refusing to accept seemingly illegitimate orders. In parallel, officers are also more educated than ever, encouraged to "think for themselves" and are groomed to think of public perspective and consequence for their decisions and actions. I have a hard time that to believe that the average american soldier would go against their constitution to impose martial law against their countrymen on a large scale in such a way that it would cause oppression and loss of rights. I think desertion as well as sabotage of plans and equipment would be common affair.

At the end of the day, it looks like there will always be people thinking that the duck-walking, duck-quacking and duck-looking bird really is an elephantdisguised as a duck and there is nothing I can do about that.

Keep on prepping for what you can actually mitigate and live a happy life fellow preppers.

All of this has got me thinking about writing a post of advice to new preppers on avoiding the pitfalls of prepping and focussing on the important stuff. Food, Fuel, Firewood and Friends. Not pretending to be James Bond.

I hear a lot of US politicians and others reacting to the recent gun violence by saying we need to get rid of guns. That is scaring the heck out of people who feel comforted having their guns and people who are adamant that it is their right to have them and don't plan to give them up. They are sure "the government" is coming to confiscate their guns especially the automatics and ones we can't even buy up here. I'm curious how far they will go to keep them. Hopefully sneaking into Canada with them isn't one of their plans.

Jade Helm 15 is just the code name they gave it for this year. It's been going on since Pearson was Prime Minister.

Remember back when Obama was identified as the Anti-Christ who was going to force all bullets to have serial numbers on them?

What happens next, and is arguably still happening, is massive hoarding of ammunition by a lot of people. This forces those of us without tinfoil hats to buy all the 22 ammo we can, when we stumble upon it.

Who just won? Well, the hedge funds and corporations making bullets. Great timing for them as the various wars were also winding down (Iraq and Afghanistan).

I wonder who started that rumour? (Probably not Obama)
Idiots like Alex Jones and his ilk who are very interested in selling you their books and their sponsors' gear are more than willing to fan the fuel of paranoia once it begins.

Stick to the preps that are genuine;
loss of job, retirement, house fire, localized weather disaster.

Then consider what else you "could" prepare for that is within the realms of possibility;
pandemic flu, collapse of the Euro, some military error that leads to a localized war(which leads to subsequent economic foolishness), and so forth. Whatever you feel is most likely to happen and most likely to affect you. Avoid tales of Neburu and the NWO...
