Howdy all, seems to be some interest for a meet at this end of the valley, for those interested we will meet at the Whatcom exit Tim Hortons for coffee at 6:30 pm on Thursday November 29. I dont expect we will have a large crowd but it will be a start for those looking to connect with like-minded individuals. I will be the guy with the beard and ballcap. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you think you will be coming.
John

Hi John. I just signed up yesterday and plan on coming to the meetup. There might be an issue. I drove by the Whatcom McDonalds today (I live five minutes away) and discovered it is closed except for the drive through because of renovations. Could I suggest the Burger King which is located in the strip mall next to McDonalds. Peter

Might I suggest a small sign on the table, saying Abby Prepp or something to that order. That way we don't all walk around questioning everyone with a beard and a hat.

Hello there lower mainland/fraser valley preppers,

My name is Mike Raptis and I'm a reporter/editor for The Province newspaper. I'm looking to do a story on local preppers for next Sunday's newspaper and I came across this site too late for this Nov. 29 meeting.

With Dec. 21 around the corner, my story would have an end of the world theme to it -- but it really is about local preppers/survivalists sharing why they do it and what they've done (to whatever extent you're comfortable, that is). If you are in any way shy about it, anonymity is also an option.

My bosses love the story idea and it would most likely be front page.

I personally am very interested in the mindset of prepping and -- even though I'm not a prepper myself -- I think people around here are fascinated by it. I want this story to really show why prepping just may save your life... whatever the situation.

I would need to get this off the ground this weekend (Dec 7-9) at some point so please email me at: raptis1t@gmail.com

Thanks for your time,

Mike

Joined too late for this meeting. Did it happen? How did it go?

I hope their may be another oppt to meet prior to Christmas season so as to swap stories and meet and greet some other like minded folks.

Take care out there,

Hey Chevy give me a hollar if you like. I myself was hoping for a whole lot more participation from other locals. I'm looking to join up for at least coffee and a chinwag about some common interests. I'm in the Chilliwack area and head to abbotsford every once and awhile. Would be cool to get some gatherings going.

As far as I read, it was one family repeating what they believe and feel. Nothing wrong with someone sharing their thoughts.
Unless you think they have no right to repeat what they think the general public should be aware of.
