Hello all! Im from Kelowna, BC. im new to this site and I am amazed at the number of so many like minded people in the area! its great! i've been prepping for about a year now but ive been an outdoors person my whole life. would love to be involved in any meet-ups around the area to share ideas and meet fellow preppers.
take care
Welcome to the board hayhay. You are right about the number of like minded people in your area and all over BC. There are several people who are trying to set up meets in various places in and around Kelowna. Just keep on the boards and as others suggest, start/join a thread about meeting up, set a date, time a place and if nobody else shows up, keep trying. We all get busy from time to time with life in all its wonders but sooner or later someone else will show.

Hi from Golden.
Howdy skyvoxx,
Welcome to the Forum.
You are in an important junction of East and West travel. How are things in your neck of the woods?? By popping your head up maybe a few more from the Golden area will chime in. As transportation corridors go, you sit on one of the most important if the SHTF. How large do you think the prepper community is in your area??
Keep in touch and post often. When you can attend or host a prepper get together. The more like-minded folks who can be networked together the better. Friends in goodtimes and even better friends in dark times.
Cheers,
Mountainman.
Hi Mountainman, thanks for the welcome. I have no idea how big the prepper community is in my area. I didn't know there was a prepper community at all, anywhere, until I found this website last night! Most people just think I'm odd and paranoid so I don't talk about it much! 😉 Thank-you for this site, I'm so glad I found it!!! I would love to host a get together at some point. It would be so cool to talk to other like-minded people......and build stuff!! 😀
Would anyone be interested in meeting up in Revy once the highway is more likely to be open? ...........say middle to end of May (2013) sometime?
Hey skyvoxx!
I'm kinda in the middle here and can go a few directions and towards Revy wouldn't be much of a problem once things are well on the melt! Keep posting and at some point we will get a meet in! Welcome to the "neighbourhood"!

Hello Doglover, thanks for the reply, I am at home for the next few weeks, building 2 greenhouses, a chicken coop and some fencing, we are south of town, Quesnel is only 50 minutes away. we have 4 dogs and 3 cats, that we very much enjoy, moose walk down the driveway, and dig up, then eat my carrots in the garden, :)))
I have friends in Hixon, that we see regularly, we travel south to Langley a few times yearly. Are we alloed to post an email adress here in this forum? i am new to this, and don't want to reak the rules?
northrod5,
Welcome. It looks like a meet in your area will be possible if you keep interest high by posting often.
Yes, you can post e-mails. However, to avoid being spammed by the bots it has been suggested that you type out the address with spaces and use dot and at instead of the normal way of typing an address. ie. bob at hotmail dot com.
Of course, once you post your e-mail anyone who visits can send you a message. Once you have posted 11 or 12 messages you have free access to the PM system on the Forum and you can have people PM you for your e-mail address.
Glad to hear you are squared away at your home 20. Many on here will need to hear your lessons learned type stories.
Best of luck at getting a meeting in your area.
Cheers,
Mountainman.

skyvoxx,
Great move. I will do my best to monitor the progress of your meet. If I am off when you settle on a date I will try to make a day trip to visit.
Cheers,
Mountainman.
I have been reading and following prepping since 2007. I currently am in Calgary till June and them I will be back in Vernon. I went to Calgary for a year but I just can't handle being in a large city again. So when I get back to BC I am going to try to find like minded people if they exist. I believe I am alone in the Okanagan. Anyhow, just thought I would show myself ( not too much of course). Prepping for me is having a bug out location in the woods but not far from civilization. I believe that being mobile is paramount. Having others with me would be better I think. The Walking Dead has reinvigorated my urgency to be prepped.
