An alternate view... If you are using this for camping then perhaps it would be a useful addition given the bells and whistles. It is dependant on a electric powered fan for it's performance and the more complicated things are the higher the chance that something will go wrong. If the fan should stop working it is then just a tin can to build a fire in. Depending on what your preps are for this may or may not be a good choice. I think in the shorter term it would be ok or just using it for camping where if it fails it isn't the end of the world then yes. In the longer term I'd go with something simple and failproof. One thing I haven't seen talked much about is the Gillie or Kelly Kettle. They are a highly efficient design, very simple and functional and less cost. Just my thoughts.
