Our next Get-Together will be June 2,
You've seen these things on all the Prepper blogs, YouTube and Prepper Forums, but have you actually tried to make one? This is one of the simplest stoves you can make from next to nothing. Now is your chance to make one. At our next get-together, we are going to show you how to make these little stoves, and lamps, out of pop cans, cat food cans and water bottles. You don't have to spend a lot of time and money to make these practical little devices. They can be stored in a bug out bag, in your vehicle, or taken backpacking. And they run on isopropyl alcohol.
Sure you can just follow the YouTube videos, but come on out and meet some great people, have some fun, and head home with a new stove you made yourself. Those of you who are interested in joining us, PM me for the huge list of materials needed. Actually there isn't one. The stoves are made from 2 pop cans. The lamp is made from a pop can, and a fancy feast cat food can. I'll supply the screw, and snorkel for the wick since this is a bit trickier to make than the stove.
Aldergrove Regional Park or Campbell Valley Regional Park are possible locations. Will have to recon the areas for the best location. Time will be 2:00 in the afternoon. Sorry, I have to work the night before.

You've Got To Be Tough, If You're Going To Be Stupid.
Heya,
Ok, June 2nd, 2:00 pm, at Aldergrove Regional Park. If you come through the main entrance, follow the main road until you see the picnic area with the covered shelter (on the right). This is Blacktail Picnic Shelter. If it is in use, we go to plan 'B' which is a few hundred meters up the road, and closer to the washrooms. It isn't covered, but there are picnic tables available. We will have a sign up to help you find the right group.
If you are interested in Bug-Out bags, bring what you have along, and D. can help you refine it. She has taken her BOB on the road through Asia, and the Middle East. Not sure what to bring in your BOB? No worries, bring a note pad. Let's call it BOBSAT (That's Bug Out Bag, Show And Tell)
If you are interested in trying to make one of those little stoves, bring a couple pop cans, and a thumb tack (I'll have some tools handy if you can't remember all the parts). If you would like to try your hand at making one of the oil lamps, then a pop can, a Fancy Feast can, and a 1/8" wall anchor are required. (I'll supply some JB Weld for finishing)
If you aren't interested in making anything, come on out and meet some 'like-minded' people who are interested in prepping for emergencies. The more the merrier. You may be amazed at other people's ideas. It sure is motivating.
Got questions about resources, this is a great place to ask. It is truly amazing what you can learn from chatting with other people interested in the same things.
If you have any questions, please private message me if you like. I will try to answer your questions as quickly as I can. DO NOT PM me if you are not coming.

I'm in, I shall meet you there.
Ill be there.
Heya,
Just a reminder about the get together June 2. If you would like to try your hand at making a mini stove or even the lamp (or even just want to watch and see how it's done) Come on down. Bring two pop cans for the stove, and one for the lamp along with a Fancy Feast Cat can, if you don't have one, I do have a limited number. I'll be at Aldergrove Regional Park at about 1 pm, hiding in the picnic shelter. It doesn't really start until 2 but I like to be early. (How's that for being prepared?) Just go in the front entrance and follow the road until you see the picnic shelter on the right, away from the road. If it is occupied by someone else (you won't see our Fraser Valley Preppers sign) just keep following the road until the end (you will know it is the end when you find the washrooms). There are picnic tables out in the open area. Again look for the sign. Denise will be doing some stuff with bug out bags so bring yours along, or bring a note pad. She is full of info. No bags? no pop cans? No pad? No Problem... come anyway and meet some of the people that just might be your bestest newest friends in a crisis.

Awesome meeting! Learned a lot today. Preppersaurus you and your wife could be teachers! Thank you for putting today together.
YUP for sure! Thanks to you both for having all kids of supplies and material to work with. You made it a great day.
Fantastic meeting all of you again, and some of you for the first time. There will be more times Im sure and things and ideas will begin to take form. Dont know what else to say except it should happen more often 😀
Thanks again for sharing the project with us all. I had a great time as well and already looking forward to the next one.
CHEERS!
Whatever tomorrow brings,… I will be there! 😉
Heya,
Thanks guys. I enjoyed it. And thank you!!! I can't get over the input from everyone on their ideas (like that cover for the stove to make it burn fast and furious) THAT WAS GENIUS. Should we share that one with the forum? HAHA. So many ideas I never EVER thought of. Thought I have all the bases covered on a lot of things. Never did get anyone to try eating poison ivy (ok ok that's a joke, we never actually saw any), but the berries were tasty. And everyone's stoves worked first time around. What's next meets project?

A little late on my reply I know.
I had a blast. Spoke to people of like minds, learned a lot with the can stoves, and most of all was impressed to see so many geared towards bettering themselves in so many ways.
I particularly enjoyed my conversations regarding the subject of canning. Definitely something we all need to get on to.
Thanks again Preppersaurus for having those supplies. I came to network but instead was given the chance to build something as well. Two birds one stone!
I would definitely do it again and think we should make this a regular thing. I'm planning to set up another meeting more in the city for those of us who are more urban.
I am out in Chilliwack. Would love to meet up with you at your next event.
I would also be interested in meeting up next time. I only found this group right after the last meeting.
