I just bought a .177 cal. Retay air rifle this week. The rifle is advertised at 1240 fps. I took it on the range and punched holes right through 3/4" plywood. Granted, it was only a 15 meter, pistol range but it was like having a silenced .22. I'm thinking that it'll be great for small game and it won't announce my presence to everyone within 2 miles.
I'm going off line for a couple of weeks but I plan to try it at several distances for effectiveness. I'll post the results when I get back.

Well, I'm back from my two weeks at the cabin. Tazweiss jr. came out for a couple of days and we spent some time with my air rifle. First we tried it at 25 meters, shooting at pop cans full of water. The .177 cal. pellets easily split the cans wide open. Finally, at 70 meters we were still punching through three eights plywood. I'm thinking that the air rifle will be more that adequate for close range, small game hunting. One of the nice things about it, is that 2000 rounds of ammo is cheap and I could carry it (the ammo) in my pocket. A guy could put meat on the table for a long time with 2000 rounds.

Is yours a single shot or can you load multiple rounds in there at the same time?

It's a break action, single shot. Certainly not a combat rifle but good enough for what I intend to use it for.

How will it do against a watermelon or Grapefruit at 75-100 yards?
depending on your answer, that opens up the range or target audiences for this useful tool.
