An unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it.
And you would trust who your government or the institutionally educated "professionals" to diagnose and determine what is considered sane? What is sane? Who gives someone the right to judge anothers mental state? Especially since the majority of humans are so disconnected within to themselves and rely on man made and evaluated science.
That alone stands as insane IMO. (just my opinion, but if I had credentials I could possibly deem you insane and take your firearms under the direction of a totarian Gov.)
How about resist the gov control completely. Is it any of their business who owns what? Does or has any form of gun control curbed any gun violence in this country?
I've had people attempt to murder me on more than one occasion while using guns. The police were utterly and completley useless. I can tell you that if I had had a firearm at the time it would have been put to good use..
The point of this story is that of one that has been regurgitated to no end "Guns don't kill people, people do"
I can buy guns etc as easy as ever and no laws will ever change that as long as guns are made.
Perhaps we should pay attention to American laws and ideology at present as Approx. %70 of the American population takes a prescribed medication. They can have their firearms confiscated "legally" because of this. So with the over prescribed meds as results of quick and often unfounded diagnoses this can equate to gun control.
Oh Oh almost sounds like a conspiracy to me..
This is just a quick write up of my believes, off the top of my head. I just feel that we give up to our rights and freedom way to easily. I feel that we are a nanny state. It should be up to the individual if they want to wear a seat belt, ride a bike without a helmet, you get the idea and not get find for it. Here is my ideal firearm laws.
16+ Canadian citizen, and an address, no violent/theft criminal record. License course similar to that of (R)PAL (hands on). 21 and older to purchase pistols/full auto. No physiological examination it gives to much power to the govt.
16 can operate and use with someone 19+
19 can own/and sell anything not full auto, or pistols.
21 pistols/open /ccw /full auto (sadly I hate to say this but its to please!)
a) Registered, does not require certified range to shoot at. Crown land/farms etc doesn't not require a permit
b) Permit required to ccw/open carry in the province/town. Charge 100$dollars a year tax, and mandatory intro shooting ccw/open carry class. It’s nothing special we aren’t trying to be special ops. Basic training on how to ccw, open, and shooting requirement pass, target at 8 yards. Why 8 because it’s for defensive situational training.
1 )No restrictions on actions (including full auto) If you have the money to buy one go ahead, if you have the money to feed it good luck.
2) No restrictions on overall length and barrel length. Comes as is from the factory.
3) No restrictions on magazine capacity. Comes as is from the factory.
4) Caliber restrictions for ccw/open are 22lr/22wm/9mm/40,45 auto/38,357,44mag. 45lc/410 gauge/bore. Why these calibers well I could care less but it’s to please. For defensive purposes in Canada I would hope you wouldn’t need a pistol ar/ak as a combat multiplier in everyday carry in a defensive situation. Must show permit if asked by RCMP, and no drugs/alcohol in system while carrying=loss privilege to carry 5 years and a 2000 dollar fine.
BASIC idea, above was written in 10 mins. I know, I should live in America. But I love Canada. I respect every ones opinion that doesn’t mean you have to respect mine though, Freedom!

The only thing in your write up i would change is the age for fire arms use. i was taught at a young age how to respect first, use second, maintain third. i never touched a firearm leaning on the way cause at a young age i was taught the disstruction it could do...
I get that phsych evaluations leave a lot of subjective decisions in the hands of people who maybe shouldn't have them, but on the other hand, I have met a few people in my life that would pass a background check that should not own guns due to an altered state of mind!
Justdoit:
I through the ages out their just for the hell of it to please anti's, however it is truly the maturity level of the individual not the age. I also just want to add that when I said its to please I meant the registering pistols and full autos, not the ccw or open carry part encase that confuses any one, I believe that should be a right.
The firearm world is truly a privilege in Canada which it shouldn't be, people should have the freedom of choice to own buy sell and trade etc. If you disagree my reasoning behind this is simply due to:
a) LTATT for bush working employees. I know a hand full of guys who have been able to carry in the bush with their job. Is their life worth more than another because its for work? I would love to hike with a 22lr revolver for scavenging etc if I ever got in jam and was lost.
b) Prohib license has to be grandfather in! Common that's just as bad as the Indian act in Canada! I don't get the freedom of choice to own a 4'' barrel revolver because my father didn't own one, great logic. It must weed out all the serial killers!
Sorry firearm laws are touchy for me! I feel so wronged by our government who tricked people in to scare tactics to get these horrible laws in place to begin with. All it boils down to is emotional laws, not crime stopping or logical.

I do agree some gentlemen I have also met I wouldn't trust them with a firearm if they paid me! However I don't trust a lot of people out their driving either! I just don't think a physic evaluation or condemning some one with a mental illness from owning firearms is the answer. Just like therapeutic horse back riding I believe in therapeutic shooting. I could see some one with ADD getting denied as a mental illness the spectrum is far to broad!
Hey Fellow Perppers.
I am a gun owner. Registered and not registered.
My personal view is that as a scociety of concern, that maybe with all the shit that has been happening to the inocent in schools and the growing violence in the criminal world that just maybe gun owners should vollunteer for psycholigical evaluation periodicaly. Yes I know that the nut cases out there aren't going to doit, and yes the criminals can get guns with out a licence. But as responsible gun owners we could take a lot of the heat off our backs by making a gesture. We have to show that there are responsable gun owners out there not just the wack jobs, nut cases and paranoids. Hope you can see where I'm coming from.
Ols scout
You go right ahead and do that.. Then they know your going to bend over backwards for them. So now we need to prove we are innocent?? It should be they can prove me guilty. I am a responsible gun owner... I use mine for hunting.. Why do i need to go to them and bow down.. I've had enough of the CFC having their finger up my arse.. My doc gets that pleasure.. Not the guys that try to tell me how to use my firearms. I'm sorry if this seems like i am attacking you It was not meant to be that. Why can't i carry a hand gun in the bush for protection (they shoot 50 feet) and yet i can carry a rifle (450marlin shoots 200 yards). One is not meant for defence yet i can carry it.. The one good for defence i'm not allowed to carry.. Go figure.. more government stupidity..

I follow what your saying.. I think we are mostly on the same page.. I wonder who at the CFC figured out that a semi auto "black gun" should be restricted yet my semi auto 30/06 is not.. What is the difference between a black stock and a oak one?? I would love to be able to carry.. I live near a park that has Wolves (i've seen three together 100 yards out my back door) yoties and black bears. We have cattle out here that i have to check early in the spring for calves. So cause some tool in down town any city decides people should not have pistols on their sides.. I get to try and carry a rifle while i help a cow give birth.. sounds fair.. I hope they choke on their next steak..
No logic to it I have given up on trying to understand why! Lol. Its a sad joke I feel like a dog chasing his tail to get answer to questions they cant even answer them self's.
Never jumped on the 450 but did have a 444 marlin, 45-70 marlin.
Justdoit I hope you have something convenient to carry and something that you don't mind getting cow uterus all over! Out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking what do you carry in that situation?
I carry my 450.. It will drop anything at 50 yards.. sadly its cumbersome.. The 450 is not much different then the 444. I had one of those and a buddy wanted it so badly for some reason that i told him. Buy a 450 for me and we can do a trade.. He showed up with a new in box 450. No scope, bare gun, great for in the bush and dropping big growly things on the farm at close range.
The 450 is a great caliber! Hope she keeps yeah safe.
If your serious about changing the current gun laws. Supporting the CNFA is your best bet to get the feds to loosen up. Its a slow process but this is a like minded group of folks trying hard to do the right thing. They can use all the help they can get. Become a member today.

You've Got To Be Tough, If You're Going To Be Stupid.
I use a crossbow to hunt. Just as accurate as a rifle but a lot quieter. I will get a PAL for a 22 rifle. I don't need anything bigger.
