Okay people, lets give this a try shall we. I think there are plenty of us lurking about out there. I've asked about meetings for a while with little response, so here goes my attempt for one. Lets have a nice relaxed and casual gathering.
July 7th 7 pm . That should be easy to remember. 7-7-7pm Riverside Park in Kamloops . We'll have a nice open space to talk freely.
Treat this as a meet and greet, a time to meet other's, get a feel for one and another and share ideas.
Please pass this along to other's you may know in the area, or anyone that might have a chance to attend.

Its good to hear there is interest in the area. I have been getting a few questions and comments so I shall reply here.
We picked mid week because most of us are getting busy with the good weather and weekends. I know we are!
We picked Riverside Park because of its central location and open space.
As for "where" in the park. That has yet to be determined. In about a week's time we will go scout out the park and find a spot and report back. Keep watching this thread. It's still two weeks away and we just wanted to get the word out so people could make plans to attend. Most likely I'll make a post saying " look for the picnic table with the green balloon" but don't quote that just yet... update will come in a week.
Again, just a causal meeting. No gear. No bags. No hike or skill training at this point.
What an awesome idea! Is this meeting for Kamloopians only or would you welcome a neighbouring Vernonite?

Ok people, We have looked over the park and found our location. It will be at the west end of the park. Between the tennis courts,washrooms and the Asian arch way. Look for the balloon at the Picnic table.
Turn West onto Uji Way at the bull and its a short drive to a parking lot at the end. Location is between that parking lot and the river.
I will be there will bells on! Okay, well maybe not bells but I will be the woman in a pink camo ball cap! Looking forward to meeting some like-minded folks!

Thank you all for coming out. It was a great gathering. I hear you stayed there to 10pm?! Well done, and here I thought the park closed at 8pm.
Keep watching the forum for future gatherings, put your own ideas forth as well. We can even look into those other activity we mentioned as well.
