Check here for an easy solution for silver. http://canadianbullionservices.com/silver-2/100g-100x1g-valcambi-silver-combi-ba
easy solution for gold http://canadianbullionservices.com/gold-2/50g-valcambi-gold-combi-bar

Though a great idea, you pay a premium for the "convenience" of those mini 1 gram tabs. Add that everything is normally calculated in Troy oz in reference to spot price and it makes calculations that much more complicated.

Sorry wrong link. These are to ones. http://canadianbullionservices.com/silver-2/100g-10x10-valcambi-silver-combi-bar , http://canadianbullionservices.com/gold-2/50g-valcambi-gold-combi-bar

I would figure since we are all covering the basics of survival, little else is of value, after water, fire, food, and shelter. If anybody was looking for these things, I don't think they'd be looking to trade. However having hard liqueur, cigarettes, medical supplies, *, *, and coffee, and an assortment of other types of drugs, you could not only trade with these, but you could also use them to negotiate a deal- perhaps to avoid losing your life. These are pleasantries that are often overlooked, but trust me, when the powers out for days, weeks, or months, and theirs nothing to do but play chess or cards by candlelight, people will want to get @#$%*! up.

EDIT- You'll have to forgive me, my mayor(the mayor of the fourth largest city in North America) just admitted to smoking *$%#@ on national TV and a runner up to become Prime Minister of Canada just admitted to smoking @#$%, so I've been desensitized. Actually read an article on this, this morning. It seems some pre-teens and teenagers were asking Trudeau questions about @#$#, as it's their future and freedom to ask about, but some politicians have such little respect for people's intelligence they think the topic is too heavy for teenagers to handle. Here's the article, you'll see Peter MacKay comes off as a complete moron as usual. And I'm not even a fan of Trudeau, but he's definitely in the right on this one.

Is this not the British Colombian forum, essentially Canadian? Let's treat it like it eh? I don't think people care if I say "bad" words, as long as I'm not hurting anyone.

I really don't care much what politician smokes what, but here on the IPN, we all have to agree to the terms of service that you were shown upon sign up.
Smoke what you want, when you want, where you want, I don't care...but given the scrutiny this forum is under, please don't be so ignorant as to suggest people stock up on illegal substances.
It's not about the use of "bad" words, it's about keeping discussions here in the legal realm.
The last thing I need is to have someone say that members of the IPN suggest trading in illegal drugs during emergency situations.

Eh, fair enough. It sounds like it's not your call, and perhaps there are other things to consider beside freedom of speech. Sorry man. Haha when you put it that way about stocking up on illegal substances, yeah, no doubt it sounds ridiculous. I'm not sure if I was implying that, was just saying in a situation without power for weeks or even months, people will want to get wasted.

Agreed, and there are lots of preppers who stock up on alcohol.
I have always suggested though, that dealing with people that have addictions can be tricky.
No, I'm not saying they are all violent or dangerous, but it has been my experience that they can be "unpredictable".

And yes, as I have been contacted by several members of the press through this site, including reporters from the Associated Press, CBC, and more, I really have to keep things here on the straight and narrow, as we ARE being monitored.

No way, that's so insane, I never would've figured mainstream media would've even messed with this place. It makes sense now...

In regards to the Addicts, I hear that man. I live across the street from the CAMH and a shelter, and yeah you see the same characters. Sometimes they're screaming and having the worst day of their lives, other times they're very passive, very thankful if you give them a smoke or change for a coffee.

I'm just constantly thinking about the average person to be honest. No cellphones, no tv, no internet. the average person will not be cool with these things.
