I stopped watching after she started saying not to buy turkish food and that european food is contaminated. It started to smell "fishy ". I was at 1000 kms from cernobyl when it happened, closer than Turkey. After eating romanian food for 20 years after the disaster, and 28 years after the event me and everybody I know are still fine. Yes people get cancer and die from cancer but I don't think that's due to cernobyl, more like due to the life style and all the chemicals in our life.
I watched and I say.. ok.. and that's it, if she is correct, its her last statement that I will focus on.. there is nothing we can do about it,, I can't stop eating, I will continue to grow my food and work my land and live, laugh and love, I will plan for different things and do my best to let go on things out of my control.

Exactly Farmgal...all we can do is remember that we live in an enclosed environment, it has all continuously gone around the world in the jet stream since the first day as well as the damage to the ocean, water evaporates and what goes up then comes down in rain/snow...I make it a point not to go out in the rain/snow, I know it is in our food/water so I stopped eating anything from the pacific ocean especially then just stopped altogether eating seafood, we eat very little meat mostly poultry & the beef that I get from my nephews ranch (though we don't have it often) and eat as low on the food chain as possible so mostly fruit/veg....Like you I grow my own garden and it gets rained on and it is in the water supply, we can not completely protect ourselves...so we do the best we can and live out our lives as we can not afford to move to the southern hemisphere to avoid it. When it happened a doctor being interviewed on the news stated that in 10 years time there would be a major rise in thyroid cancer and other cancer...so we will see soon enough....we all need to live the best lives we can with people we love and protect them the best we can.
