Hi all!!
My call name is shovlhd I'm from the Eastern side of the Fraser Valley.
I have a wife and two kids ages 11 and 4.
My wife and I have talked about prepping for a number of years now but we have only recently started our food/water storage "bug out" bags etc.
I have consruction, agricultural and K-9 security background. I'm also a little mechanicaly inclined.
My wife is taking First Aid and learning to can and preserve foods and we would like to take an outdoor survival course this summer, she also has K-9 security background being a Master K-9 Trainer.
My 11 yr old daughter is a brown belt in karate and will be a black belt by this time next year.
I grew up on the farm and I'm not a bad shot but it's been a while since I shot a gun so, my wife and I are signed up for an upcoming PAL course. This summer we will be learning how to shoot. We will also be purchasing hunting rifles (what good is a stock pile if you can't defend it?) along with the outdoor survival course.
We are looking for other "like minded" people or families in the area to exchange ideas with and possibly go in on a Northern "Bug Out" property with in the future.
Being on a limited budget I've realised that this prepping thing is a process. One step at a time, it's not all gonna happen over night. Important thing is to get started and keep plugging away.
Won't be able to make the meeting this weekend. Maybe the next one
Look forward to hearing from you!
Thanks
Shovlhd

Would love to hear more about your k9-security background. Have a 6 month old rottweiler and I havent decided which direction I want to take his training yet.

Welcome shovlhd. Great to see so many new people entering posts and introducing themselves. I am not sure what a k9 security background entails but it sounds like something we should all hear about.
