I am an advance life support paramedic that works in the oil patch of Alberta who is also involved in prepping for his family. My quick views on prepping are that, I believe that most of us will never see the big mushroom cloud or mega volcano or the west coast fall off into the pacific, not to say these things won't happen, but more than likely we will be affected by a loss of job or income. So I preppare by having food and supplies for lossing my job, but also for when the SHTF. I dont focus on one disaster and instead use common sense prepping that can be incorporated into my everyday life and not make a big deal of it with my wife. Who is slowly warming to the idea.
I am looking for other interested individuals/families that share the same interests and live in the area. We are a family of four, with two youngin's. We are not religious or tree huggers. We are in our early 40's and also enjoy camping. Our political views are that govt should stay out of ones private lives, ones bedrooms and ones body. My past includes US military police, civilian frefighter and paramedic.
Please drop a note if nearby and share the same views and we can chat. Please those individuals that put tin foil in your windows, check for listening devices in your phone or think that men in black suits are following you around, contact someone else. 😀
Welcome street medic. My name is Aaron and I live in Langley. I think you will find that not too many ppl on here are in to the whole tin foil thing. Most people here are preparing for realistic scenarios, and you will find a wide range of backgrounds here from ex-military, firefighters, k9 trainers, the whole works. The info available on this forum is extremely useful and I feel you will get what your looking for here.
Again welcome
Aaron
streetmedic,
welcome to the site, no foil hats around here, i haven't noticed any men in black suites following me lately, and if there is a listening device in my phone then who ever is listening must be pretty bored of listening to me talk to my friends about hockey!!!! You made a good choice in using this site, i too am a family man with two youngin's. My wife and i don't get paranoid about prepping either, nor are we religous tree huggers. I hunt and fish, and i used to be a wildland firefighter. the info and the folks that use this site are both top notch, i look forward to hearing your input on future topics.

Welcome,
This forum is great, and sounds like your planning for the right reasons (my opinion), the main reason most of us prep is for our family's sake. There is lots of great info and great people on this site. I believe I'm a normal person, (no foil here, although normal is a relative term), I'm a stainless fabricator and a volunteer FireFighter. Looking forward to your knowledge and input on the threads.

Well, really don't know what to say?. So consider this, Russia is refurbishing 5000 cold war bunkers, and China is constructing 2 -200,000 person Bunkers, and Fema Camps are real. Oh and the US Army is advertizing for recruits to fill "domestic relocation and internment specialist positions" and Scientists suggest that Solar Flare ctivity may be up to 200 times worse than we have ever had. Souns like all is well and in order. Good luck.
