Fair enough. I usually browse the forum based on recent threads, not location, so I saw "Rifle Selection and Ammo Availability" and didn't think it pertained to a specific geography. 😆
That said, the windchill in Toronto today is -28 degrees Celsius, whereas Chilliwack is 8 degrees above zero. This forum is the closest I can get to BC, LOL.
Either way, I'm scouring the entire country for ammo. The shortage seems to be Canada-wide. I've checked all across, from budgetshootersupply.ca (Surrey) to Reliable Gun (Vancouver), Westrifle (New Westminster), Wolverine Supplies in Virden Manitoba, and everywhere local to me, too.
Have you checked AmmoSupply.ca in Calgary?
From their website: "AmmoSupply.ca has partnered with Canpar to offer the best rates for Canadian shipping.
We are happy to ship ammunition to anywhere in Canada."

There is also cabelas, wholesale sports outfitters. Seems like one area will be short while another has the lions share of ammo. We have a group that bulk buys. If one sees needed ammo, he gets it and we sort out who gets what, next time we hook up. We do the same thing for reloading supplies.

I was in Cabela's yesterday asking for some 168 grain .308 Hornady.. (none on the shelf). They said I could special order it and pick it up. This seems to be the way with these guys. I wanted some Yellow Jacket Rem .22 cal rounds and they portioned them out of a box to me from behind the counter. 6 box's total is what I managed to convince the guy. I have a source where I can get as much as I want but I was testing the waters to see how they do things...
Also checked out the reload section to see what was avail there. Everything was avail to reload whatever you want. You do need to get on a waiting list for powder though if you don't already have it.

For those who are interested there is a gun show on March 7-8 at the Chilliwack Heritage Park Building.
Some times there are good deals, watch what you buy as some of it is junk.

Well Gang been busy for the past few months.
I have just picked up two Star 9mm. copies by Walther of a 1911 semi automatic pistol produced for the German army circa 1940 -1944.
These are great hand guns, smooth movement and dam accurate too. Cost me $350.00 each and the are new never been fired. Lever Arms in Vancouver have them.

I am reading a lot of info on some sites that the SKS is destined for the "prohibited" classification pile, due to a slamfire that was reported a few years ago. It appears that the new government has given reclassification powers back to the RCMP without any oversight by government or advisory group. This is a very popular firearm, especially with this group. Does anyone else have any info or other insight on this?
There are an lot of SKS rifles in Canada. Hit and miss (haha) in the accuracy department. Love Mine. In fact, I just got some dies to start doing reloads with Hornady SST 123gr bullets, for hunting.

That's a lot of people to confiscate from, for a gun they have no idea where to find:)
I , ahem, sold mine years ago.....
