Hello. This forum has really died in the last few weeks. Has anyone done any prepping lately? Ive been trying to store more food especially with winter coming. Ive been doing some bug out practices. Stocked up on some silver. Looking into buying some good snowshoes and looking foward to a bit of mountain snow so I can bug out practice in harsher conditions.

Anyways I check here everyday and not much has been posted lately so hoping to get the ball rolling again.

Still up for meeting people in the Aldergrove/Langley area so if you're interested send me a pm.

Happy thanksgiving!

Aaron

well being hunting season, there is not a lot of time left over after having to work. But I am in the midst of building a protable faraday cage big enough to drive a full size truck into that is easily erected and dismantled

I am new to this blog, but am interested in meeting in a group to get a feel for the people in general, also just responded to another member bout finding a local group to connect with.
I don't know the protocol for going to a group meeting, so any advice would be helpful.
Thanks!!

I taught myself how to make a Paiute Deadfall, this knowlegde might come in handy. I have been putting a lot of 9mm down range, practising close range draws. I dehydrated all the herbs from my garden and I am going to attempt to grow a lemon tree in a pot. I don't know how well thats going to work out. I will take any tips.

Hi Gang
Well I'm back, I have just started a new job as a sales rep in the Richmond / Delta area. God I hope there isn't an earth quake 😉
I was in a marine store on Graybar rd. in Richmond just off of Westminster Hwy. called Wolff Marine. I noticed they had some hand held VHF radios on sale for $49.95 each. (Cobra) Not the top brand out there but they have a great battery choice double A's cheep to replace and if you buy some rechargables your set. They had 6 left in stock. I personally have a Uniden MHS-350 with 6 battery packs (I used to sell them).
VHF is line of site wise (horizon to horizon) on the water. If your on a hill and you can see them on your side of the horizon you can talk to them.
Just saying that they were a good deal if you where looking for alternative communications equipement.
Oh and Canada Ammo has a good deal on a CZ AKS with fold down stock and 1200 rounds of ammo for around $800.00 Not a bad deal they shoot well and are very hardy (bought two) ammo comes in a wooden crate filled with 60 round a boxes. You get the usual cleaning kit and baonet, extra mags (I got some extras free at the gun show) a shoulder sling come with pinned 20 round mags. Pin come out easily. Liking the AK as much as my M14.
Another good deal was at Exess Cargo on Tarps there blue but thats beter than white in the summer for vissability. Cheap Cheap Cheap.
Oh and keep a look out at your local Canadian tire they have solar chargers on sale.
Gotta go to the gym now, Us Old Farts have to try and stay in shape 😉 getting harder and harder to keep the weight down.
Well good hunting out there.

Hey Ihwaz,

I*don't know about lemons but I got some of the small honey mandarines to grow. I let the mandarine dry out completely on the outside (just left it on a shelf in a dry warm area of the house). Then I put it in a pot of dirt (not too moist) and put just a bit of water over the areas where I planted the oranges (I did two in one pot) and put a whole folded newspaper over the pot (not tight or anything just laid it on top). About a month later I found three to four sprouts in the two locations - it was awesome! However, not having the greenest thumb for growing plants indoors (I do way better with gardens - mutant growth with horse manure!) so I wound up letting them die unfortunately but atleast they sprouted and looked very healthy for a while
! lol
