I had an absolute blast yesterday talking about amateur radio at the Eastern Ontario Larose Forest Meetup.
I was impressed with the interest from the group, and I had mentioned that an online course was under development.
Well, I just heard back from the person who is getting this set up and it is now close to being ready...only a month or two away!
Actually, the course is already online in French, as this is being done through RAQI (Radio Amateurs du Quebec), but the exam is federal, so it makes no difference where you get your training, the exam is the same for everyone.
It looks like the course will cost $100.00, which is more than I paid, but let me tell you, the guy setting this up REALLY knows what he is doing.
If you go to the RAC (Radio Amateurs of Canada) web site, you will find an program called ExHaminer, which uses the actual exam questions to prepare you for the exam...this is the same guy that wrote that program!
I will keep everyone posted...in the mean time, feel free to Google ham radio clubs in your area and find out if they are offering a course...many do!
