I just wanted to let you all know how I save videos from the internet that are not commonly available for download. When I loss my power or internet connection for whatever reason I like to have videos saved on my computer and usb keys for future access. It works great for youtube but from time to time i find that I can download from other sites with the url. All you do is find the video you want to save, copy the address at the top of the screen and paste it into http://tubedown.net/ space provided. It will search for it and give you options to download. Just not to sure how many people know they can do this or have ne reason to. Just wanted to throw it out there.

Never underestimate the power of free! If someone has deemed something valueless, yet U see value in it; Then you've already made a profit and savings!

Also if you use Firefox and download the plug-in you can record videos as you watch them on YouTube.

I know this is a old post but there is very little posted in this forum about this and I thought it should be shared.

So you've downloaded all these video's but powers out and you need the info... What I did was bought a cheap/used smartphone (Galaxy Ace), a 32GB micro SD card, a USB solar charger and spare battery off of ebay. In total it cost me about 70$.

I downloaded all my video's in 360p so they are smaller file size and transferred them to the ace via usb cable, I also installed some games on the phone and threw in a couple movies to keep me from going insane in a shtf scenario, after that I fully charged the batteries removed them from the phone and put the phone, battery, usb charging cable and solar charger in a waterproof bag and store it in my B.O.B.

The phone itself isn't hooked up to a carrier although you can still make emergency calls like 911 etc with it even if it isn't hooked up. I have tonnes of music on my normal phone and I would have had to sacrifice a lot of my space to store all the video's on it so this way I don't need to worry about it, even if I lose my phone I still have everything I need waiting for me where I left it.

Excellent idea. I have all my info on several DVD's and my music on Mp3 player with a Mini SD card as well. I think my MP3 player also plays video's as well.
Of course you can also keep your laptop, as long you have someway of charging the battery.

I use Firefox and VideDownloader addon to get my copy of the videos I like.
