After hearing about the power loss in the states, my better half is glad that I bought the geneator. It still sits unused on a pallet, until it is needed, the silent sentinel.

I wonder if they have the military helping clear the mess, or are they only sent abroad to clean up someone elses.

Read this article I found on cbc.ca:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/07/05/storms-us-aftermath-friday.html

I can't believe some people's priorities are keeping their e-readers charged and the picture of the kid playing video games outside? Come on ... put that kid to work helping people. Sheesh!!

Reminds me of my 16 year old cousin at the recent family picnic ... spent about 80% of the day in the trailer playing on his laptop.

Large scale outage ... short period of time. Also a common occurrence, reminds me of Northern Ontario!

LOL..... Northern Ontario doesn't have 370,000,000 people. That was the estimated population affected.

Cigarettes are just like HedgeHogs, perfectly harmless until you put them in your mouth and light them on fire.

314.3 or so million people in the USA. I think there were 450 million in India without power, but then again they only got power last year. 😉
