In case you haven't heard, there is a story from MSM that China has warned it's citizens to stock up on food and other necessities.
Now, even though I consider this guy a bit on the alarmist side, Canadian Prepper actually took a reasonable stab at the whole situation.
Now, DW works with a Chinese national, who saw the story on Mandarin television and they claim that the translation to English is indeed accurate.

Interesting. Curious about what is driving the Chinese government to recommend stocking up. There are several possibilities but the few articles I read didn't provide the cause.
Austria has been warming their citizens to stock up on food, water and other essentials. Enough to last 3 to 5 days in case of mass power outages.
