CT has a Salton dehy. coming on sale on the 22nd, this Friday!
I have this one, had it for years and it always worked great. Dried as well as the other name brands that I have.
For some reason this is the one I pulled out of the cupboard first, when drying. Takes less space then the 'others' on the counter. It dries just as fast if not more so.
Now maybe I got lucky but if I had a choice, I would take back an expensive named brand, to get this one....JMHO tho.
Also watch out on garage sales,etc.. for other dehydrators that take the round racks...they will fit this one. 🙂
Happy stocking up the pantry/storage.
dang doesn't pay to be in a hurry. with all those types. lol

I saw that too...
I got an email from CT, as I had put that item on sale watch sometime before I got my excalibur, which was almost a year ago.
I guess that means they don't come on sale often, so if you're thinking about on...now is probably the time!
Yup they do go fast..very fast!
If I can get in, I will get another one.
Another reason I like these is it is very easy to set on something metal, with a small board on it, set the round on it, then on to the wood stove and it takes very little rooms. So if hydro goes out...guess what I grab. 🙂
I also have the Excal and a Garden... one.

I have the salton and use it all the time. The only problem is i cant find fruit roll up trays for it. I even went directly to the company and nothing.

Maybe this will help you...?
What I do is use wax paper. Then when they are done I just cut the paper and all, then roll them up, put in canning jars.
I am cheap/frugal (?) tho and use the wax paper from cereal boxes. 😉
I have fruit roll up trays for the other dehys and its really a pain to get off, so I went to wax paper in those as well.

I do sort of the same thing. I use parchment paper and works. Still it would nicer if salton made these, then all you would have to do is wash them.
changing the subject slightly ,,,, what is best thing to use for the Excalibur for doing bananas ?
Getting them off the metal trays is a b*tch .The trays don't bend enough to push off. I need to get something
Should I be using wax paper ?
or Excalibur ParaFlexx Premiumsheet
or Excalibur ParaFlexx Disposablesheets
or Excalibur ParaFlexx Ultra Non Stick
It was all very confusing so I have no idea, except if you make the wrong mistake it is costly.

Nanoseeum Netting is safe in my dehydrator (excalibur) and I can dump it in the dishwasher or laundry (appealing), although it's possibly a little pricey. Since I buy it to chop up for air-only options if we're in a low power suck situation, that wasn't as big a deal for me.
I don't think I'd stick waxed paper in my dehydrator. I'm 100% that I wouldn't use it for more than that 100*F "raw" setting.
I have, however, used parchment paper in both the Eccalibur and the round guys I originally upgraded from (greaseless or greaseproof paper for the UK; not sure if you have a different name for it).
The parchment paper can be reused for things like fruit, although for roll-ups/leathers I tend to leave it attached (so I can slice and roll them up).
I have the pale tan, brown-rimmed ParaFlexx (whichever that is). I want to say it's the Ultra, but that's because of a vague shape of the first letter in the middle word and the spacing between "ParaFlex" and "ets".
The lettering has not held up to scrubbing well, and I feel like they just never stop being sticky. I feel like they have been sticky since the day they came out of their skinny little envelope tubes.
And they have to be hand washed.
Maybe worth it to somebody, I don't overly like them and there's not enough reach on them to fold up at the sides if I pour a concerning-sized puddle onto a tray.
As far as the commercial sheets go for bananas, I don't know. I do know the parchment paper slows down drying time, so I imagine the sheets would, too.
I don't like the sound of them being " STICKY "
*Shrug*
Maybe mine, maybe some special coating to help stuff peel off them, maybe not, but there's a distinct "feel" to them, reminiscent of the coating SOS bars eave in the room of the mouth and on the fingers, but tacky with the weird greasiness. Maybe somebody else who uses them will weigh in, maybe the Ultras are different.
I use parchment paper. Just easier.
I did find these, though, trying to look them up after my post to see if I could ID a difference in the plastic sheets and be sure I have Ultras:

Seems like if you're doing straight fruit/veg, you could lay them over the trays. Still have to wash the trays themselves, but you'd be able to slide the screen off to pop off bananas or some of the others that like to "melt" into the screen (shredded potatoes, shredded onion, and orange segments spring to mind).
