I have been looking everywhere in Ottawa where we can find 5 Gallon Plastic Bucket with Gamma lids and can't find it anywhere can anyone advise me to where we can find those bucket in the Ottawa area it seem that they only are available in the state hope am wrong Thanks
I believe costco carries them.
TSC -Tractor Supply Company carries the Gamma lids but I'm not sure on the food grade matching pails. I checked and don't see a TSC in Ottawa so that may not help 🙂

The food safe bucket and gamma lid combinations are still available at costco.ca ---- no membership required, free shipping, 12 pails and gamma lids in the package for $164.99, which works out to $13.75 for each bucket/lid combination. You can order them with assorted colour lids, all white lids or all red lids. They generally arrive at your door in less than a week depending on your location. I think the best part of this is you don't have to drive around to pick them up, in Alberta they are delivered by UPS and you can track the delivery dates/times online.
Good luck!

While I am a huge fan of gamma lids I don't think they are necessary for every pail you have. You can just use the regular - much cheaper - lids for LTS and use the gamma's for buckets you are currently eating out of. I would think 5 or 6 would be plenty for the average prepper!

I have noticed the the buckets are # 2 in the recyle triangle and say HDPE ,which is good
I am unable to find any coding however on the gamma lids. Does anyone know if gamma
lids are also food grade safe?
Or perhaps only the white lids are food grade safe ?
The Costco pails and gamma lids are still available and state that they are food grade. They have a number of colours which I have used to sort stored food into categories. A 12 pack of pails and gamma lids is $169 and includes shipping right to your door within about a week. That makes them just over $14 for the pail and lid without the time and fuel to go out and source them in different locations. There are other Canadian on-line retailers who carry them but they are more expensive in the 6 gallon (which is the Costco size) range and you still have to pay for shipping. My storage dollars aren't unlimited so I try to save money whenever possible.

Yes I agree the Costco deal on 12 buckets and 12 lids is great. I bought my last set from there.
Free shipping by UPS right to your door . And they offer mixed colours, red, white , or blue separately. Although
sometimes their website will show one of the colour choices sold out.
( P.S. it is actually fulfilled by Briden )
I have a large quantity of food grade 19 liter and smaller pails.
In Ottawa. If interested, PM me.

The price at Costco for the 12 buckets + lids has increased from 164.99 to 199.99
OUCH !
http://www.costco.ca/Gamma-Seal-Lids-and-22.7-L-Pails.product.10366286.html
That goes from $ 13.75 / each bucket + lid set to $ 16.66
Just looked at a Lee Valley catalog. They have Gamma Seal lids at $14.95 plus shipping. There is no bucket included. Costco's price does not seem so bad, comparatively, does it? I am glad I have a few extras.......for the time being!
Costco has the lids available separately for $99.99/12 which is $8.33 each. If you have a source of food grade buckets this is a pretty reasonable price tag given Lee Valley's pricing. (Costco includes shipping)
