I bought the pails with lids at home hardware in Ottawa, and bought gamma lids online (but next time I will check TSC). I only use gamma lids for buckets that I want to access frequently

A few months back, I managed to get half a dozen 3 gal buckets from the bakery at the local Safeway. They had a stack sitting there, all washed out and ready to go. They even seemed happy not to have to dispose of them.....a win win situation, or so I thought. I got them home, sanitized them, an tried to put a gamma ring on. No way! The ring just flopped around as the bucket was to small to hold a ring. I was a little frustrated, but what the heck, I now have a bunch of great other use buckets!!! I have never had this happen before. I guess not all buckets are created equal.
Anybody else had this happen?
Got an email from BRIDEN ... there is a sale on GAMMA LIDS at BRIDEN ... ALL COLOURS !
Also 5 gallon on sale. ( not 6 gallon )
I agree, no need for gamma lids for every bucket. You only need some for the buckets youve opened to keep your food fresh. Get 6-8 gamma lids and the rest -the cheap white version that you hammer on. After you take the regular white lid move it to your kitchen with a gamma lid on it. Save loads of $$$.
