there are a couple places i've bought them from. the place in the states is not shipping friendly to Canada. the shipping costs a lot more then the product.

i've bought from http://www.providencesupplies.com/Products.php?category=101&view=productListPage&postPage=2
and
http://www.incaseof.ca/

Hi all,

Looking to pick up some mylar bags for 5 gal buckets and O2 absorbers. Are the companies listed above still the best deals around right now or are there any other places to purchase? I'm in Southern Ontario and will be in Toronto in the next couple of weeks. Would like to pick up some bags and O2 for sure. I'll pay for shipping if I have to, but hoping to pick it up instead...

Any help appreciated on a line of bags. Not only interested in the 20 x30 for 5 gal buckets but also the 1 gal. Size bags too...

It's all about cost per bag....

Crownsown,
Despite what some people will tell you, don't cheap out and use hand warmers as o2 scavengers in your long term food storage. Handwarmers are designed to be used in o2 rich environments. They will shut down long before the o2 in your food is depleted.

Scrounger, where did you get the info on the hand warmers? I was wondering about them too but wasn't sold on stories that they were just as good.Makes sense. If they shut down before all the o2 is gone, even putting more won't work, just heat up the bag and maybe cause a tear.Thanks.As far as price machine.com; they are US so not worth dealing with in that case.I've heard great stories about providencesupplies (LDS)and their prices.

Hi there, I'm new to Edmonton, this site and prepping! Any advise on where to get 5 gallon buckets, mylar bags and other prepping supplies in my area?

5 Gal buckets...if you have to buy them (I think the price is a total rip off anywhere to be honest for a molded piece of plastic....) but Home Depot sells them for $3.97 plus a buck and change for the lid. Dont worry about buying there "food grade" buckets...all that means is they are calibrated on the sides for volume..lol and they charge an extra few bucks for that... If you know anyone in construction especially painters you can usually get old 5 gal buckets and just have to clean them out. Shop around....don't jump the gun though....I'm sure there are better deals out there.

As for mylar bags and O2 absorbers, ontariopreppers.com seems to have the best pricing at the moment and can mail out but check the rest of this forum out for other locations...kijiji has a number of ongoing deals too and if you scour the internet your bound to find a deal.

Good luck guy.

Worlds end warehouse do them now. They posted in the members business section (I think). Super quick shipping and nothing on the delivery box to give the game away 🙂
