I have been trying to "add" space to what I already have. In this case because I have to gut my kitchen to re-do my bathroom, I bought cheap free standing cupboards. I did not like the look so I refinished them & added a bit for more storage.

Have you done anything to "add more space"?

The cupboard looks great! It's a good feeling to get projects completed! What are you using to "hang" the spice mixes on the door??

I just put peg board. It works for small mylar bags; with a wider sealer you can hole punch the bag and just hang them.

I do in most every room but the kitchen, plus the having to gut it means removing all the cupboards that are attached to the wall. I was getting tired walking to the 3rd floor everytime I wanted something that I don't often use.

We have Ikea wooden shelving units in our fruit cellar. The way husband set them up there is a lot of space between some of the sets of shelves and our newer shelves we added have much deeper shelves. So I've bought a metal shelf style shoe rack that I'm going to set up on the deep shelves to take advantage of the height between my canned fruits/veg shelves to I can actually see the smaller cans of things and not have them lost amongst the stacks of the bigger cans (sauerkraut and large cans of pumpkin take up a big foot print). So I'll use this shoe rack for things like the small tins of fruit like pineapple, mandarin oranges, mushrooms etc

Costco...the kind you set up and it has three shelves and just sits against the wall in your hallway to keep the shoes tidy and off the floor.
I would have bought the plastic shoe shelf/rack kind but I've not been able to find them and this one looked a bit sturdier.

Like this...but it costs less in store this price on the site includes shipping costs http://www.costco.ca/Vancouver-Classics-3-tier-Mesh-Shoe-Rack.product.10323742.html?catalogId=11201&keyword=shoe+rack&langId=-24&storeId=10302
