So for those of us that have winter, how are you doing finding bi-annuals that will overwinter in your area, I am zone 5 an so far this spring, my scotch curly kale once again for win, for the second time brussel sprouts, carrots and cabbage, why does it have to be purple cabbage that overwinters, I want to find a nice green one.. but I have a girlfriend that has a f-3 cross that is a mix doing well

So what have you overwintered this past winter, did you use a cold frame or regular garden, covered with what, for the cabbages, the rose cones work great.

These were overwintered carrots, these photos were taken april 25th 2015.. Some of these were harvested for fresh spring carrots and some where left in place for seed growing.

I left some carrots in place in the fall of 2014, some of them came up in the spring of 2016.
Unfortunately, I goofed on the seed saving and tried to harvest seed too soon.
Since I am doing carrots again this year, I'll be trying again.

I must have left a few garlic bulbs in by mistake because I see that they are coming up! 😆
