I'm no expert in sheep, but yours seem to have some sort of hellish glow about them. Don't pi** them off... 😉
Congratulations, in all seriousness. What are your plans for them?
The girls will become part of our breeding stock. Freddy is will go to the butcher in the fall...well that's the plan. He's so darn cute that might be a difficult decision but one we have to make.
The hellish glow is the heat lamp - ha ha.

They look good and glad you have a ewe to keep back, I have been meaning to ask you why you have a heat lamp on them? They are in a jug in a barn and its may, I don't even use a heat lamp on mine when they are born in Jan/feb, if its below 30, I might if they are weak put a lamb coat on them for extra warmth but if they are strong babies, they don't even get that..
How long are you keeping the lamp on for? my ewe's and lambs are typically jugged for 24 to 48 hours depending on the age and bond between the mothers/lambs.. and then put back with the rest of the flock..

Anita can I come play with them 🙂
Little darlings
farmgal - I only have it on for the first day - just because I am being over careful I guess. There's so much I don't know and I am still trying to figure out what "normal" is. I wouldn't know a "strong" lamb from a "weak" one at this point. The first day one lamb fell asleep and I thought - Oh Lord - is it dead? 🙂 OK - maybe not quite that bad but you know what I mean. I have kept them jugged longer simply because the ram and the donkey are in the large pen and things were getting kinda hairy they seem to be fighting more now than before the babies arrived. so much to do and learn.
oldschool- cmon over 🙂
