Does anyone have any experience with this product?
I've read good online reviews about it, but have never seen it or sampled it personally.
It would make a good "Feel Good" food in any high stress, emergency situation, but the idea of a no-freezeing required, shelf stable ice cream product, with a two year shelf life leaves me scratching my head a little.
I'd be interested in any thoughts, input or experience anyone here may have with this product.

Wow, I had never even heard of this, I'd be interested to hear a review as well! I went with trail mix containing smarties for our feel good treat.
I ordered a few #10 cans of Freeze Dried Ice Cream from a Canadian Company running Black Friday Sales.
When it arrives I'll crack a can and post a review in the Freeze Dried/Dehydrated Foods Review Thread.

If it is the same as the individual portion stuff then it is a dry, eat as is product. You don't turn it into iced cream, it isint soft and creamy it is hard with the texture of sponge toffee but iced cream flavor. I had it in iced cream sandwich form and it was tasty... Strange.... Yet tasty, but a far cry from anything resembling iced cream.
I've had this before... tastes exactly like cookies and cream ice cream (which is what I was eating). The only disconcerting thing was that I associated the taste with something cold, not room temperature. Disconcerting, but still yummy.
I have only tried the freeze dried ice cream sandwiches so far and they are so yummy! They taste awesome but the ice cream part reminded me for of whipped cream and the room temp. would be a bit of a let down when craving a nice cold ice cream sandwich but taste was really good!

I bought 3 different kinds of freeze dried ice cream at MEC for my canoe trip this year. I take my teenage daughter and I thought she'd like it as a treat. I had two ice cream sandwiches and one that was just the ice cream, but all were very tasty and they all held up remarkably well to being re-packed and squished in a dry-bag many, many times.
They certainly make a nice treat, but I'll second RabbitTeeth in that it was odd to eat something at room temp that tasted like it should be cold.
