Hey Tazweiss,
RCR here! Welcome fellow pongo. You will find lots of good info here, and you can add in a bunch as well. Us ground pounders need to stick together 😀

During the years that I've been planning and preparing I've almost become overwhelmed with information. Now that I found the IPN forums, I have a chance to share some of it with others who are like minded. One of the things I came to realize awhile back is that there is such a thing as having too much information. To simplify things I chose seven areas to concentrate my efforts. After that I started a binder (2 copies, one for home and one for cabin). I still research and surf the net but most of it is just curiosity. If I come across something worthwhile then I revise my binders. Otherwise, I putter with improvements to the Last Post (alternative energy, water sources, etc.) as a hobby. As long as I call it a hobby my wife indulges me (she's not so much of a prepper).
So far I've weighed in on a couple of different topics (How to defend your home, Economic collapse-your view & Education for over pop) in these forums. I hope that people wont get too offended by my opinions or find them too far out there.

Meanwhile WildernessReturn: You're right about groundpounders, all other trades started life as support.

wow.... pongo, a word I haven't heard in a long time! I spent many years around the Princess Pat's (80's, 90's) ... my daughter was in Afghanistan with them in '08. 😀

Something I have come to like about this forum is that no one does seem to get offended. I appreciate hearing other's p.o.v.

I feel that the occupy movement blew it by not focusing on and persuing the true root causes. It is much harder to spark up people the second time. That being said, we will see what they have learned when it warms up next spring. Thomas Jefferson once quipped "a little revolution is a good thing" Key word, little. They are prepared for a large one.

"When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on" T. Jefferson
