Ok Preppers - let's duke it out. I'll throw the first punch.
If Mitt Romney is elected President of the United States the world as we know it is over. World War III will begin and there won't be a safe place to hide anywhere.

Maybe that's true, but that doesn't mean the election results won't have a different impact depending on who wins. In all outcomes, you will be controlled. The question is:
If you're an animal, would you rather live in a roadside zoo, or a nature preserve?
You're not going to be free either way, but you'll be a lot happier in the preserve.

Obama inherited a terrible financial situation. He seemed to have so much promise. However the financial situation has got much worse under his watch. If re-elected it will hasten the financial collapse.

The Romney / Ryan camp plan on instituting the brutal "Reganomics" style of economic policy. Basically give the rich whatever they want and maybe they'll employ you. Bull shit. Obama is fighting with all his strength to revitalize the middle class in America. His plan offers the only real hope. Unfortunately, he still has to suck up to wall street with Ben Bernanke. The Q3 stimulus package wont work. It's just another payout to the bankers at the top. However, if you think the Q3 bailout of 40 billion a month is a lot to spend, it's still cheaper than the trillions of dollars that would be immediately printed under Romney's guard to fund his war against Iran, Russia, and China. A war the USA likely can't win.

"A war the USA likely can't win."

Here is some news for you...... the US has not won a war since the group win in WWII.

The simple fact is that none of them can fix what is wrong. Obama inherited a mess. He cannot fix it during his term even if he had the magic formula and Romney sure as heck won't. Nothing Obama has done is improving things and in fact he has made things a lot worse. Romney jumping in with his ideas will not improve things any more than Obama carrying on down the chosen path. Another concern is that Obama is likely to do a lot of things that could really be bad news in the second term if he gets it. Things he wants to do and could not do in the first term.

I do not like lawyers. Most are ass****s and view the whole system as a game. A knowledgeable businessman is probably a better way to go with fiscal matters but............... can they cut the mustard with the rest of the job? And having said that I am not suggesting that Romney's business forte is what is needed.

Personally I do not have any use for either of them. As with all politicians personal ego stroking and economic gain is the driving motivation. Things are going to tank regardless of who gets in.

Let no good deed go unpunished.

They are like wrestlers bashing each other on stage, but buddies behind the scene. Whatever they have to do to keep a 2 party system going. Keep the focus on them and nobody of substance can make a mark. Both are crap and both suck. I simply would not vote seeing how neither one resembles anything that I would consider a good fit as to my views. The whole system needs reforming. I pray for record low turnout at the polls so they realize the discontent.

A better form of demonstration would be for a LARGE turnout with MILLIONS of intentionally spoiled ballots. THAT would show the level of discontent. For small turnout it only shows disinterest.

It is possible to run as an Independent in the USA, but it's not practical. Even if you won you couldn't affect change because no one would have your back in the House. As much as we dislike the choice before the Americans (Obama vs Romney), it could be much worse. There are ideologies ruling other parts of the world (Islamic states and countries in the middle east, Marxist-Leninist and Maoist states and countries in the far east, etc...) where your choices and freedoms (however perceived) would be much more limited. We have little choice but to work within the political framework we have, and affect change from within.
The ruling class would love to see all it's detractors just sit there in silent "protest". In this structure you have to choose, you have to vote, and then you have to hold your representative(s) accountable. The biggest fear of the ruling class is that you will use the one power (your vote) left to you.
The only way to hurt the big money boys is to stop buying all the made in China junk, but hey - that's another topic!

Excellent commentary by the National Post today.... http://fullcomment.nationalpost.com/2012/09/22/conrad-black-canadas-front-row-seat-for-the-american-disaster/ ... If the mainstream media are beginning to "see"... then we are being prepared for "it".....

It's not surprising that the National Post - a newspaper created by Conrad Black (Bilderberg Group) specifically to proliferate conservative (mis)information would post an article like that. Filled with nothing but fear mongering and no facts.
"we can't let back Obama in... he might do some things he didn't do in the first 4 years". or how about the "Romney has permanent hoof-in-mouth disease but I'm sure he's smarter than he sounds".
Really? Here's the most important reason they don't want Obama in:
A while ago the Republicans blocked Obama's plan to increase taxes to the rich and cut services overall by a 1:4 ratio (one dollar in tax increases, 4 dollars in cuts). The Republican house (largely filled with ultra right wing Tea Party assholes) refuses any measure that would increase taxes to the rich. But, since Obama holds veto power over the house they couldn't pass their own agenda either. So, they all agreed to postpone the decision of what to do about the debt till this November. However, Obama managed to include a special clause that will force the government to adopt his 1:4 ratio automatically (without vote) in November.
That my freinds is why the republicans are freaking despirate to get him out. If they don't then taxes to the rich will go up. That would likely be the "horrendous" thing Mr. Black's newspaper is referring to would happen if he gets in again.
