I thought Recipes specific to a shtf situation would be an interesting and useful topic. I have only one, so far. I got it from a friend, many years ago.EGGLESS, MILKLESS, BUTTERLESS CAKE2 cups Raisins, 2 cups Brown Sugar, 1 cup Crisco (shortening), 2 cups Hot Water, 1/2 tsp. Cloves, 1 tsp. Cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. Salt.Boil for 2 minutes, cool, then add: 3 and 1/2 cups Flour, 2 tsp. Baking Soda, 1 tsp. Baking Powder, 1 cup Nuts.Bake in moderate oven (350 F) for about an hour, makes 2 loaves.thanks Grace.
