That supertanker looks really cool. And having a way to fill it , is a great idea. Question - how long does the water last for in the tanker? Do you need to empty the tanker every 6 months?
Thanks. (sorry about the stupid question lol )
Met with some other preppers this week,
went for a walk in a Flea Market with a prepper that was passing through the area, we discussed things for sale and purchasing items.
Bought an older stihl chainsaw for only $50 needs some carb cleaning but runs, and good pressure to boot.
Bought a new in box 2500lb winch that can be run from a 12v system so can use it for larger projects by myself or with a helper
Shelter - important. Water - important. Food - important. Wine - more important!

We were told that it depends on if you are starting with municipal water or not. The chlorination allows it to last longer. You can drain water and then pour it back in the top to keep it aerated a bit as well.
Also, if it is the blue container or the lighter one but kept out of sunlight, it will also last longer. Sun encourages life. They will also sell a product to oxygenate the water. Basically, water doesn't go bad as long as algae etc isn't allowed to grow (hence the chlorine and shade). It will go stale (hence the physical aeration and the oxygenation product).
Apparently up to 5 years is possible if you follow all the precautionary steps and have chlorinated water to start with and use the product they sell. I'm going by what the missus told me after talking to the dealer. I hope that helps and any experts can correct me.
24 snack servings of Chunky soup. Expires the end of 2014 and they were 75 cents ea. I would have bought more but there was a limit of 12 per person and I only had one kid with me lol
More water.
And at Zellers, all the Truly vitamins and pain relief was 50% off! Well when we got to the check out the average was between 60-75% off!
Rotated out the rest of my storage gas while the price was low...
topped off the generator, filled my 5l cans and made sure lawn mower and chainsaw were full.
Got 40 more liters in storage with stabilizer for a total of 60 liters.
Topped off all 3 vehicles.
The next morning, gas had gone up 5 cents a liter...I finally got one timed right!
Added a few things to my EDC, thanks to a neat little kit I got at the Ottawa meetup!
Am heading out today to get duplicates of vehicle registrations.
The power here is due to be shut off for day long maintenance by Hydro Quebec in about 20 minutes...good for a few equipment tests!
