Agree, got some nice things from the meeting but this weeks main item has been to take advantage of the sugar sales on this week and add in several hundred more pds into storage..

Yes we picked up some sugar as well at calgary co op.
3-10lbs bags for $10. We're new to the stockpiling of raw ingredients so I'm not sure if that was a good deal or not lol.

since there was a max of 3 per person, we figured it was. So we went to two different stores 😳 .

Do you think sugar is really going to increase a lot?

Last year, sugar went up and just stayed up, I waited for the 3 month cycle sales and they never came, I watched at Christmas and some stores put on .20 or .30 cent discounts but that didn't even touch the amount it had risen, other stores locally never even dropped the price locally for the xmas baking, this is has been the first good sale in over a year.

My own tracking is that locally sugar prices has almost gone up 50% on me in the past two years, and I find that once something goes up and stays up that long, it rarely comes back down..

A couple months ago, we went to Bulk Barn for that cheap sugar we saw there...but it wasn't cheap any more. The clerk admitted that sugar prices had in fact gone up...a lot. We finally broke down and picked up the big bag at Costco. I think we paid just under a buck a pound.

Freshco for everything but the tp. The last time they had this kind of sale all of the items were sold out in less then 2 days so I made a point of getting there the first day of the sale when they opened. The tp sale ends today at Food Basics

Can I join in for the first time on this post? This week I picked up a 7 gallon water container, water purification tabs, a solar blanket for the BOB, matches for the BOB, and a smaller first aid kit for my BOB. Now I actually need to get the physical BAG for the BOB. hahahah! Going camping in August with my two kids, so I'm happy to have some of this stuff along with me, even if I never need to use it. Makes me feel safer.
Priorities for me still include getting more water and food in the house, plus stockpiling some gas in the garage. Is that safe?

amf, a BOB can be a suit case if thats all you have. My secondary BOB is a work duffle on wheels. Start with the basics and work up when you can. At the end of fall is when you'll find the best deals on cargo packs// alice style backpacks. We use to have a motto in the Engineers, "If you haven't got what you need, make do with what you have" in which at the time we were still using stuff from ww2 and the Korean war.

Today? Nothing, birthday lol. This week I picked up a white gas Coleman lantern, white gas Coleman stove, extra wicks for my Kero lantern, another 6gallon water jug (needs filling), continued work on my survival kits, almost done! Rebuilding some edc type stuff after the jeep was broken into. Went fishing (gotta keep them skills sharp lol). I think that's it, got more jerky curing in the fridge gotta get it on the dehydrator.
