EMP proof truck project pretty much complete....0 electronics required to drive it. And it's a 2008. 😉

I'd be curious as to what you did there. Wish to explain?

It beats me trying to argue with Denob that chickens can't drive tractors....

Hahaha, I took out the overly complicated heavily electronic dependent modern diesel and automatic tranny, and replaced it with a 1993 International DT360 inline 6 and a spicer manual transmission. It bypasses all the factory electronics, and only requires a 12v battery to start....after that it requires nothing to run but diesel and air.

Is this you/ 😮 Anyways, nice to see folks bypassing alot of crap that we don't need. In small aircraft, the KISS system still prevails and that is because enough goes wrong with that without adding more crap to the pile...I like working on Harleys for the same reason...they kept it simple for 100 years, but now them dumb turds are even putting switches in the kickstands in case some moron can't remember to put it up.....sheeesh!

I have an 83 Southwind RV with a GM 6.2 diesel....still simple! First sign that the 400 Hydromatic Tranny is slipping, I'm stuffing in a manual for better gas milage as I'll just rip one out of my ol' rusting dually's that still can't die.

Have you had the truck out for a rip yet? Hope it's a 3/4 ton as the diesels sag out the suspension alot quicker than gaspots.

Hahah That's John, he lives down south somewhere, he's been helping me with odds and ends through the swap.... This ones mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g1FVxI4Pz4&list=UUDdwoXo_-Ytq_IgHO8WgRVQ

Mine started out as an F450....suspension is heavy duty. Just got back from a rip around the neighborhood...sure is slow in stock form! But its nice to be shifting gears with a medium duty truck tranny! 😉

Nice rig, I still like the workhorse, just have to justify all they food they need. Ran propane back in the 90's when it was cheap in 454's for towtrucks(another sideline I had). Other than the motors ran hotter, they had power and many underestimated them. My present dually's both have 5:10 rear ends but I sure like the 4:11 for power and fuel economy in a dually. I'm still a GM man but I do like the feel of Ford trucks when everything is tight and running right.

This week bought an extra new propane tank, and it is now filled with propane.
Price is alot cheaper in the summer, almost 1/2 the price from winter. Now is the
time to stock up on propane if you use it.

well, this week has been productive. In between the daily grind, I've managed to pick 4L of blueberries, turn 1/2 of that into jam, dehydrated more raspberry leaves for tea, organize my preserves...how long do you think applesauce lasts anyhow?(no sugar, just lemon juice I think...or it could be just apples, I'm not sure anymore lol)

Finally got the seal for my canner...canned 25 quarts of veggies. That's almost a month worth. Working hard to get up to a year in storage before the end of fall.
24 AAA rechargeable batteries and 3 USB chargers.
Car battery replacer and 6AAA battery pack for the Baofeng.
Built a portable 20 meter dipole antenna for the Yaesu...will be deploying and tuning it up at the Eastern Ontario Meet on Sunday.
Lots of canned and dry food from various sales.
