Don't fret over canned goods that are slightly expired. They have to put a date on them legally. They will most likely be good for years to come. The peanut butter I'm eating expired last year... and that isn't sealed nearly as well as a can.
It may lose some nutritional value over time. There was a thread going about expiry dates long ago. Maybe you can search the archives and find it as it gave some Rules of Thumb to follow.
Thanks, I didn't know that they could sell expired goods...

Just had our first (for this year) load of firewood delivered. Another 3 cord load next week. Got a young man to stack it for us. He will also pick up a wood splitter , and split and stack the 3 cords (maybe more) of bucked up hemlock that is piled and tarped and 2 year cured, for us. Still have about 2 cords left from last year. I think we are going to be good for wood this year.
Dehydrated Nettles, Strawberries, and raspberries.
8 cord hardwood for my cookstove.
Canned some more berry jam from my raspberries, etc in the garden.
Mostly done relocation. In the meanwhile : 4 x 25L jerry cans of gas, got 2 new metal shelving units installed, organized all our spare food on them. Bought a new fire "resistant" gun vault and will be transferring everything in it hopefully this weekend. Bought a couple flats of water to replace the odd few bottles that were consumed over the last couple months.
Got myself a new 4 pound single jack sledge hammer for those times when one needs a bigger hammer. My old one must have grown legs and walked away with the construction crew we had here, because it has done a disappearing act. This one stays beside the wood stove with the hatchet and machete. Should be able to hang on to this one.
Got a few cans of mountin house stew and pasta. Wife got a dehydrator for ten bucks off a mom swap page on fb. Testing a new crkt 3 finger neck knife. So far love it. Orange paracords terrible btw.
Reloaded some .38 SPCL ammo. Bought some dehydrated food on sale. Rechecked my Trauma kit.

Ready for anything...
Was gifted a huge roll of plastic sheeting and 4 big rolls of duct tape.
9 pints of home canned pork and 14 pints of home canned chicken breast!!!
Food Basics in my area of Ontario has chicken breasts on for $1.97 a pound...took me 1hr 45 min and my new filet knife to bone and skin them...bones and fat/skin were separated and frozen. Hopefully next week I'll make chicken stock to can and schmalz for the freezer.

Got the rest of our firewood delivered today. That makes 6 cords delivered, 2 cords left from last year, and about 2 cords that needs splitting and stacking. A young, energetic fellow came by yesterday and stacked some of it for us.
No frills has their 15 pack water on for a buck plus deposits. Got seven flats to put in stock.
EMP proof truck project pretty much complete....0 electronics required to drive it. And it's a 2008. 😉
