People, visit this site, it has all the information that we preppers have been talking about. It is NOT just about Solar storms and CME's it about survival after a major collapse. Even if it is old news to most of us, it is essential for all of us to review what we know, in order to keep it fresh in our minds. As I have found when I was instructing in the military, "teaching is refreshing, what the teacher thought they knew".

Ranger,
That must be the main reason for kids. It gives you a, sometimes, willing audience to learn what you have to teach.
I think you are on to something here. About reviewing what each of us has learned. If we don't review it once in a while we may lose those skills or knowledge.
In my humble opinion, survival training is more than just learning how-to build a lean-to, build a fire or bandage a cut. In fact, the mental aspect of survival training is directly transferrable to everyday live and work. It's an attitude, a positive attitude. Let's use how-to light a fire as our example. If you can light a fire with a match, you will always be warm if you have a box of matches. Now if you can light a fire 37 different ways from Sunday, you will always be warm. Survival is not about learning one skill, one way. It is about learning as many alternate ways to any given task. So, when one method fails you have more options to choose from before you have to even think about giving up. And you only fail, when you give up. Persons in our modern society have been spoiled for so long, not having to do it themselves, that when things change, they will be in for a rude awakening. And if they cannot adapt to the coming challenges they will become casualties.
So, when disaster strikes, it is the ability to think a solution through that will get your ass out of trouble. Sure, having a BOL, BOV, BOB and a warehouse full of food, gear, and ammo; will be helpful, but it will not be what decides who makes it and who doesn't. The ability to find solutions and improvise what you have on hand, will make all the difference in the new world.
Just my thoughts,
Mountainman.
