Don't have a garden plot? Too cold to garden? Try a window farm!

I found this on prepper tv http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=PkCuPrsPn_I

Great find Martha. Never mind windows in cities how about windows in abodes that endure the long Canadian winters. These window farms seem like a great idea hand have definite possibilities. I love the idea that they are built mainly from recycled materials. Obviously these are not going to produce great volumes of food but they could easily be a primary source for herbs etc.

Thankyou, ICRCC, I love the idea that they're from recycled materials also, and they look kinda cute! I looked at their website and it says that one of the plants that does really well in that setup is stevia which is that natural sugar substitute plant which I'd love to grow as it's supposed to not make your blood sugar go on a roller coaster ride like the white stuff does.

I'm also wondering if I could make a "compost tea" solution to feed the plants, from my worm composting bin which is indoors right now.

Great find! I'll be looking into it soon after some window renovations.

Thanks!
