I have been watching Oliver Stone’s eight part series called the Untold History of the United States and it has been nothing short of “eye opening” to say the least.
He tells how the USA and especially the CIA had its dirty little fingers in a lot of other country’s pies. He also shows how many of the presidents blatantly lied to the leaders of other countries and reneged on their promises .
An interesting series that I highly recommend.

He had an interview with RT on the subject.

I have been watching the series too. It gives in depth, background information surrounding events that were pivotal points in recent history. Much of which is not common knowledge and puts the events in a different light. Definitely a must see.

I just saw the first chapter, It did not contain anything I did not knew regarding the European war, and just a couple new items for me in the pacific war.
With some of the classic omissions, lies and exaggerations, but entertaining. I would like to have it included about the peace negotiations between Germany and en gland and why England dismissed it, more about the forced migrations in Soviet Union and the gulags, and the view of Polish people in all this. And totally forgot to mention that the republican government in Spain started killing people before the civil war, just because of ideology "reasons".
The material itself is not unexpected, giving is an Oliver Stone work.

I too would have liked to see him go into greater detail regarding events in certain countries but as the title states, it is the history of the United States. What I did like though was how he showed how many of the US presidents were really no better than many of the dictators and rulers that they wanted overthrown. He tells of the lies they told and the promises made and then reneged on that cost hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives.
He showed Truman for what he really was and followed the presidential lineage right through and exposed Ronald Reagan and the many, many of the dirty tricks he was responsible for, both with and without the knowledge of congress.
One of the parts that caught me by surprise was his unveiling of how the CIA had been instrumental in the overthrowing of so many foreign country governments, no matter what it cost in human lives. How they supported and supplied arms to Saddam Hussein and then how they turned on him when he fell out of favour. The same with the Ayatollah Khomeini and even Osama Bin Laden.
Bottom line, for me anyway, is that it opened my eyes and showed me the USA in a way that I had never seen it.
