Hey beth. I think we all know the right answers for ouselves. Of course we all want to meet like minded idividuals. I have posted invites out there to others in my geographic area. Coffe, pinte. We are all preppers, and the more I read others posts, the more I enjoy this forume. It really cracks me up at times. Like this one. I think it is prudent to be cautious. However: if one truly wants to learn and explore interests furthure, one needs to step farward.

These forums allow us the opportunity to the glimsp other peoples personality, true or not. But I always like to meet people personally. Even in business. I can gauge better if somebody is shaddy by little telltale demeaners.

As far as telling a location such as a retreat are cache. NO @$#%$# WAY. Exspecialy if it is your home.

Cheers

@ Farmgal

I was just reading your post about the second well being off power. We are about to drill a well and I was hoping to have a hand pump too. From what I understand our main well has to be sealed so it can't have a hand pump attached. Is your second well a drilled well too? I am going to the TSC store tomorrow to look into a pump but if you have any suggestions for things I should do or watch out for I would love to hear from you.

I need all the help I can get! 🙂

As far as telling people my location, unless you are a complete hermit people are going to know where you live, you need friends lol. As far as other preppers go, if I like you enough to talk in private and decide to meet, then after an initial meet in a public location and getting to know you, sure come over for a beer and lets talk prep. I would never tell anyone the location of my retreat (when I get one, its coming dont worry) unless they were a part of my group, simple as that. You can see my BOB, you SHOULD see my BOB, I value your opinions. Take a look at what preps I am working on at home, thats all fine. If something minor happens that we will bug in, chances anyone else would be staying home as well. if something big enough happens to make you want to come find me, whether to ask for help or try to take my stuff I would have already bugged out. Feel free to enjoy my house, stay safe.

Whether yea tell or not, make sure that the wrong people don’t see you make BOL. There the story of the man who had made a buried shelter, stacked to the brim with all the supplies to last him and his family for a year. It was in a remote location, but was noticed when being built, or when he was loading it with provisions. Anyways, a month after he was finished, he went back to find it ransacked. Some body stole a backhoe, and dug a hole into his bunker, and made off with over $20,000 of food and equipment. Nobody was around to see it happen. 👿
